That being said, Bob Iger probably told James Gunn 4053241331345 times to delete those tweets once they were found and he never did, so Iger was probably super pissed. Disney knew exactly what they were getting into with Mr. Troma. I have a feeling Gunn either didn't delete them when told, ignored commands from on high to get his shit in check or defied them in some other way. You don't make someone that much money and get fired over a right-winger. Especially not Mike fucking Cernovich. There's more to this than we're hearing.

And yes, Gunn constantly makes these jokes. This sounds like Gunn's termination during had to do with direct contract violations and not just a matter of simple jokes. I stand by my guess that Disney already told him to clean up his Twitter back when his top 50 hottest heroines list broke the news; the MCU actors already have extremely strict non-disclosure agreements, so it's not a stretch to assume the same goes for a agreement to keep your social media clean.

Probably also explains why Gunn has gone kinda dark since then: Disney can probably highlight the exact lines in his contract that he breached, so he knows he fucked up.

I agree with most of what you said (especially in regards to people thinking Disney did this because of the likes of Mike Cernovich, lol).

However, James Gunn's connection with Huston Huddleston adds an extra layer of huge concern to the story/controversy, if you ask me. I think there's a little bit more than just "Hey, we told this guy to not bring up his past with Troma." That said, I hope that Gunn's connection with Huddleston is just a very unfortunate coincidence and nothing more. Best case scenario is that I hope that James Gunn was only one of those annoying assholes. I really do.

I find it to be highly ironic that Gunn was 100% in support of digging up people's pasts as a means of dirt against them with the type of "politically incorrect" past that he has. Projection at its finest. But I guess if you're "on the right side of history," it's okay! /sarc
