Looks like they're moving away from your usual DCEU grimdarkiness. I kinda like what I'm seeing so far, to be honest. Hopefully they will manage to find a balance between humor, drama and excitement, something Marvel's been having trouble with lately if you ask me (Thor: Ragnarok, Ant-Man and Wasp).

I don't like the costume. Way too bulky. Makes the guy's head look ridiculously small around the shoulders.

This looks like they are desperately chasing those Deadpool $$$s.

Admittedly, the part of the trailer where he finds out the hard way that he's bulletproof is genuinely funny, but aside from that it looks like trash.

First DC trailer I've seen that doesn't look like an edgy suckfest. I'm cautiously optimistic.

I'm hoping it's at least good enough that Captain Marvel gets to beat the piss out of Superman somewhere down the line.

I like it enough. It made me say, "Carol Who?" because I'm getting a "woke" vibe from the MCU's Captain Marvel.

Compared to the supergrimdark DC movie fare (and for that matter, that Titans TV trailer), this actually looks like fun. Maybe not super epic, but hell, sometimes you just want to kick back and /enjoy/ things.

Wasn't the Rock supposed to be in this as Black Adam?
I saw on the movie's Wikipedia page that Dwayne Johnson was added to the cast list but later was removed and looking up on some news articles, he still wants to do the role but his busy schedule may result in filming not being started until late 2019 (I guess WB may first see how Shazam! does). It looks like Mark Strong will be portraying the character, Thaddeus Sivana, as the villain but Black Adam could be teased in a mid/post-credit scene.

Was that Danny Trejo as Shazam? (As in the old guy, not what they're calling Captain Marvel so Disney doesn't sue them.)
It is Dijmon Hounsou who portrayed Korath in the first GOTG movie and will reprise his role in the MCU Captain Marvel movie. Apparently he also set to play a different character in the Aquaman movie so that may be why his face will be concealed in Shazam! to avoid confusion. And this is not the first time DCEU movies have had actors play two different roles. Patrick Wilson, who is set to be Orm in Aquaman, had a voice cameo as the US President in BvS.

It looks amusing enough so far I guess, but I would really, really like to watch Rocky do some standard material about YOU THINK YOU CAN COME IN HERE AND USE THE MAGIC WORD AND STEP TO BLACK ADAM
well I
IT DOESNT MATTER WHAT YOU THINK

Looks like they're going with faithful adaptations now - good job DC movies. Now tell your TV division to do the same please.

I don't like the new Captain Marvel / Shazam cape and hood. The little cape with the bright gold trim was cooler and really set him apart. The new cape and hood looks goofy.

I read rumors online that they're strongly considering Black Adam as Superman's antagonist for a Man of Steel 2, so I guess that's why we get that mad scientist villain in this. I think making him strong is a bad move, but maybe DC wanted to avoid having two mad scientists in their universe with Lex Luthor already being around. Though that Lex Luthor should get retconned to hell and back, along with most of Snyder's creations, in Flashpoint. DC can fix their biggest issues in Flashpoint:

- Make Superman nice, and so that he never died which was dumb
- Recast Batman. Jake Gyllenhaal wants the part, fuck it, give to him
- Put Nightwing in the universe
- Replace Lex Luthor
- Make it so BvS and Justice League never even fucking happened. Just fuck it right in its mouth
- Replace that god awful Jared Leto Joker

I kind of liked Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor. He was believable as a spergy super-genius millennial CEO, it's just that they were never going to make enough movies to turn him into a believable comic strip Lex. In the same token I think they should have cast someone young as Batman who'd actually see it as a privilege/career move instead of another job.

I really don't know what they're doing with Joker, at this point I think DC is going full on fuck cinematic universe continuity.
