I find the change here so weird. Most troons are just total fuckups with nothing in their lives. Yet here you have a guy who’s okay-looking and has plenty of money, yet decided to go the way of Terra or Toren.
Many of the troons we discuss here actually did have at least halfway decent, productive lives, pre-troonout. As men, they may have been mediocrities, but they weren't utter failures. When they trooned out, however, they alienated their loved ones, wrecked their careers, and started engaging in offensive, or at least extremely questionable, social behavior--because people tend to do that when they take a private sexual fetish and make it their public social identity.
Richard/Terra's a perfect example; he had a job, a home, a fianceé and a circle of friends he enjoyed his geeky hobbies with. He lost all of that when he trooned out. Since then, he has ended up broke, his job prospects wrecked, and he endlessly scrambles to keep a roof over his head because the same impulsiveness and self-indulgence that led him to troon out has spread into other areas of his life. He lost his last job, as a tard wrangler, due to incompetence, but in the process he also threatened to have an autistic meltdown when his supervisor confronted him over it. This is a guy who used to teach high school math--was he threatening such meltdowns back then? I doubt it very much.
Along with trooning out, Richard seems to have completely abandoned all responsibility for himself and his actions, and the consequences thereof--and that seems to be a common pattern among troons who managed to function okay when they were men. Dave Muscato's another example; he went from a guy with stable employment and a life that was working to a homeless troon threatening to sue a women's shelter for refusing to house him.
And Katie Charm? He's doing the same thing. He held his shit together as a guy (despite being a predatory male feminist), but as a troon he's out there engaging in all sorts of reckless, impulsive, irresponsible, antisocial behavior. He's fortunate in that he has money to buffer many of the consequences of that, but when the money runs out? He's fucked, and will be hand-to-mouth homeless just like Richard.
