@StarkRavingMad

What about Democrat turnout in the traditionally "blue" states?

I can see a strong(er) Dem turnout in California and New York. I also think that the GOP may once again be disappointed with the results in Virginia (that state has become solid blue over the past 10 years ... It's filled with government workers now).

Don't get me wrong, in no way do I think that signals a "Blue Wave." I'm just trying to be realistic. I think the GOP will hold on to Congress pretty easily. I just think that the only Dem enthusiasm exists in the deep blue states, so I can see the voter turnout numbers not underperforming for those states.

I've long felt an apt description of socjus is:

You don't agree with me? Well, I'll just piss myself while shouting your name and THEN we'll see who the REAL idiot is, won't we?!!‽‽

Does anyone remember the video where the old man was sitting at the park bench and that overweight mom got mad at him for saying that Trump was the best, and so she mooned him as retaliation?

I feel like its been 2-3 years of that, every day.

It'll be rather interesting to see how the Democrat party will handle that ad. They could try their hardest to ignore it and continue to act exceptional, which will only prove the ad right and push more voters away. Alternatively, they could try to distance themselves from the people in that ad or even denounce their actions, which could create further division within the party.

Either way, I think that the midterms, and the reactions to the results, are going to be rather amusing.

That GOP ad is surprisingly well-done. Didn't think they had the balls to make an ad like this. I'm impressed.

There are still some sane left-leaning/liberals/Democrats out there, and I honestly think they're scared shitless of what has become of "their side" of the political spectrum (for lack of better words). Earlier today, I saw a small interview of a baby boomer woman (who called herself a liberal) from Lexington, VA (near that now-infamous Red Hen restaurant) crying her eyes out because of how terrible it was of that restaurant owner to cause so much division in her town and how sick she is of the political divisiveness.

The Democrats are going to lose more and more people as time goes on. I can't say that more voters will switch to the Republican party en masse by November, but they are certainly isolating their Democrat voters who AREN'T clinically insane. I expect low Democrat turnout this November ... At least in the red and purple states.

They just elected an actual socialist in NY-14 over the 4th most powerful Democrat in the House, so I'm going to disagree with your statement that there are still sane people on the Left.

Not to powerlevel but I come from NY and the reason this has happened is that most NY politicians are really hated here especially the democrats and this is mostly the fault of the tard governer who makes decisions to harm citizens livelihoods.

Her platform is perfect, too. They also got Dana Balter to the front of the line for the 24th district. Ain't that just the picture of a perfectly sane, rational-minded person? They're all slowly gearing up their primaries by ousting the "Old Guard" and putting straight-up Communists in their mid-20s and 30s to the top of the stack for the midterms. This is exactly what I was hoping they were going to do, and it's just getting better by the day as all of the different primary results come pouring through.

Also Chelsea Manning got beat the fuck out.

The vast majority of her promises are just glittering generalities with seemingly no actual plan behind them (how will she end the "War on Drugs" or protect DREAMers, for example) while her promise to "abolish ICE" is simply exceptional as all hell.

Look at the numbers, too. Holy shit. Nearly all of the voting is tallied up in the Queens district now, and only ~28,000 votes were cast. Go compare those numbers to all of the previous years' primary elections. There are 214,570 active, enrolled Democrats in the NY-14 district. Where are they?

I looked through the numbers, and it's frankly insane how much the dropoff is compared to the 2016 election alone. Most of the elections tend to hover around the 150,000 to 170,000 range. The only exception would be 2014, with 67,372 voters, but that's still about triple the amount we're seeing here.

We're always going to see low voter turnout compared to the number of registered voters, but I can't see any example of it being this low in the past 18 years.

They know their friends will vote, so they don't have to worry about it. There's no way the wrong person will get elected, because they know] that everyone else will vote for that candidate.

From what I understand, this Crowley guy has run unopposed for like ever, so maybe they forgot how to vote. Or they are all illegals. It is a 19% white, 70% Hispanic bloc.

Anyone think the Dems are desperate enough to force Hillary on us again in 2020?

Because she has not AT ALL disappeared from the public eye since the election.

A part of me still says "They can't be that fucking stupid", but it feels like every week something happens that makes me go "Yes, they are that fucking stupid". I suspect they're going to end up fucking themselves because people who might want to make a run are probably going to wait and see if Hillary tries to run again before they announce it, and she'll probably wait until the last possible moment to say she won't.

That restaurant that refused to serve Sarah Sanders or whatever shared this:

Surely this is it for Drumpfffh!

That's absolutely real, and Dead serious. The comments are of course cancer.

I laughed my ass off though because if you follow the Russell Greer thread, that sounds word-for-word like one of his constant threats to Taylor Swift.
