That's a lie, Chris has been getting more than this a month from both Patreon and video requests, as well as ebay sells.
No, the ebay sale does not count as an asset since, it's not a car a house, or an inheritance. Chris is basically marking up low useless junk for lots of
profit. His patreon was reduced last month, but if he does continue like previous months (plus paid ween videos and ebay), he is at risk for losing da tugboat. 1,180 dollars. These people don't care, I'm sure they'd glady kick Chris off government monies. Chris exceeded that amount last month by almost 4-5 times that.
No, I think you're overestimating the zeal (for eliminating waste) with which this program is operated.
In an earlier incarnation of your post you said something like "... if it continues this way". (I lost the quote.)
That's exactly the problem. You're allowed to have small windfalls of cash with SSDI. SSDI is an insurance program and not a needs-based program, which affects their philosophy on a lot of their decisions. Hell, you're allowed to win the lottery and they don't care.
They want to decide whether or not you're still crippled.
So, to get an idea of how lenient they are, look up info on their trial work program. I think if you trigger a trial work program, by making more than the minimum a month, you still keep 100% of your tugboat for like 9 fucking months, while you struggle and experiment in keeping a SGA job.
And then for awhile, there's a minimum you can make, and for every $2 you make over the minimum, you lose $1. I don't know, I think I might be confusing the situation, and maybe those two sections are one.
But yeah, it's policies like that that really paint a picture. They don't care about fits and spurts of money. They care about if you're truly capable of returning to the workforce.
Edit: Here we go

Ok, so, trial work period, then you get a 36 month extended period of eligibility, where you get the tugboat if your earnings drop below the SGA again. Huh, I thought I read about a sliding scale at some point.
But yeah, this program is way more generous than I'd expect for the US.
