👓 TGWTG The Spoony One / Spoony / Noah Antwiler and Rachel Baker / @RaeAngel07 - The touching romance between a washed-up videogame reviewer throwing a decade-long pity party and his delusional Canuck stalker. #weaknotsick #donttellmehowtosulk

At the risk of itty bitty powerlevel, years ago when Spoony was streaming on Hitbox, I once popped my head in. Wasn't the best of times since around that time I was about to take the ultimate final math puzzle.

So even though it was utterly pathetic, I vented in the chat about it. Spoony stopped the entire fucking stream on its tracks just to address me and he wasn't being flippant or angry, he was genuinely concerned because he could empathize with another person going through suicidal depression. Most of it boiled down to "get help, there's no shame in it" etc. and stream continued without any problems.

I occasionally compare him to this modern Spoony and dear god he's long gone. Last I heard him display any emotion was when he was told during a stream that one of his fans had died. The old Spoony wanted to help people, the new Spoony just wants to pity himself over everything. Breaks my heart bad.
I remember when he talked about a fan who emailed him before committing suicide during his Highlander: The Source commentary. Since then he cut down on the suicide jokes, to the point he removed a rather graphic one he planned on using in that review.

He seemed genuinely torn up about it. Back then he really cared about the well-being of his fans. Now all he cares about is if they give him money.

Truer words have never been spoken

The lack of any kind of understanding of Noah's relationship with April is one of the biggest mysteries about him. His various illnesses he is candid about and can be hypothesised on, but him and April appear to be extremely co-dependent and unable to engage with the real world, but we have almost no evidence of warmth, familiarity or contact with them. The Star Wars review wasn't a great indicator of his attitude towards her, and we must remember that this person who is shouting at brick walls all day on Twitter has a fairly long-term girlfriend who he seems to feel little affection or value towards, and yet should be the ideal support and validation that somebody as moody as him requires. I'm sure the same could be the case for her towards him, but with people as insecure as these two, I don't think they would be able to resist dropping mentions of their daily happenings through social media if they were genuinely satisfying company to each other. If there is a loving relationship going on, it's certainly expertly hidden.

Wait... Present Day Spoony? Capable of Love?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Sorry, but no. Look, I'm not painting spoony as a selfish asshole here (He does a pretty good job of that himself), but let me give you a very brief lesson in Science.

What makes up emotions? Well, emotions are generally hormonal and electrical responses exhibited by the brain in response to stimuli (To put it crudely). This stimuli can be anything from being kissed by someone, to witnessing someone get hurt, to many sorts of things.

Spoony himself was diagnosed as Bipolar, which means that his hormones (Or blood and brain chemistry) are constantly fluctuating. Medicine is used to help stabilize this. The keywords are 'help stabilize'. Pills aren't a magic bullet when it comes to psychological problems. It also takes a therapist and the inherent willingness to recognize that you have a problem and want to fix it (And I do mean want to, as in taking the actual necessary steps to fix the problem, rather than whine about it). Neither of which Spoony is willing to do. To top this off, Spoony is constantly throwing himself in the proverbial fire by logging into twitter and ranting about Donald Trump ALL DAY.

To top it off, Spoony abuses alcohol. So do you really think someone who's unwell mind is addled by booze and pills, ontop of exposing himself to a toxic environment on an hourly basis, is even remotely capable of any emotion besides irrational rage and paranoia?

I really have to wonder how Mike Nelson feels about his co-hosts ranting about "the alt-right" and Trump voters when he himself is a conservative Christian.

I'm surprised he hasn't spoken out about it but I guess he's either got the patience of a saint or he just doesn't give a shit.

IIRC, despite being a Republican, I don't think Mike was much of a Trump fan, but I don't know how much of Doug Tennapel has rubbed off on him after working together one Amikrog and the Netflix VeggieTales series. He deleted his Twitter, so I've no clue what happened there. On the other hand, RiffTrax recently did a Kickstarter for a live Space Mutiny and Krull with Mike, Kevin, and Bill... so clearly there's no obvious tensions or bad blood that we know of.

April's a dangerhair pervert warrior of fantasy justice and Spoony's a paranoid, self-loathing narcissist, they're together because they think it's them against the world. Walking on a rickety bridge makes people hold hands, and once they're across, they don't want to let go.

Probably also helps that they're on the same pill. Helps to have at least something in common.

Noah streamed a Batman game early this morning. Anyone watch it? He also released the VOD immediately. The Cuphead VOD is still private with the comments enabled.

The MST3K guys have been friends for decades, so they probably just don't bring it up at work, and if they tweet things on their own time, it doesn't rise to the level of something that demands confrontation and cutting off personal ties over it. That Nelson deleted his Twitter account is news to me, though. Wondering how long ago that happened.

Oreo is a jug dog. They have a life expectancy of 12 - 15 years. Spoony adopted her a little over 6 1/2 years ago (feels like much longer). I have no idea how old she was at the time but I reckon she's got a few years left in her.
I think she was two or so, in a vlog he mentioned her age when he got her from the pound. She's a bit overweight and I doubt get's any exercise so that will shorten her life expectancy, playing with squeaky toys doesn't cut it. Even small dogs need to go out for walks daily.

The Oreo Twitter says she was born on February 3, so if she was two when he adopted her in October 2011 that'd put her around 9 1/2.

At that age she stands a better chance at outliving Noah with how things are going.

That's what I was thinking. Least she's fed well and Noah does play with her indoors.

Oreo's a nice pupper, it'll be sad seeing her go. If anything makes me feel genuine sympathy for Noah, it's losing that dog, because he obviously loves the heck out of her and doesn't treat her badly. You want a real heartbreaking experience, watch a cold and misanthropic pet owner lose their pet. Have you heard the howling cries of a banshee cursing the entire world? You will.

Shit, got something in my eye.

A few days ago, Spoony claimed the noise from his neighbours' lawnmowers stopped him from streaming.

This is Noah's neighbourhood:

Cookie cutter suburban America. "Noise pollution" is a little much.

In his booze and pills addled mind, it probably is loud.

Take a look at this. I recently watched Goodfellas, and noticed that Ray Liotta had the same complexion as Spoony (Pasty, sweaty, pale). Mind you, this was when Ray Liotta's character was supposed to be a major cokehead.

Just how fucked up is Spoony's health, I wonder? Beyond the stuff we DO know. What ISN'T he telling us?
