Mike has always generally avoided politics unless someone directly asks him about it. How he ever worked with Frank Conniff though, who has been politsperging since long before the Trump era though...I don't know.

Maybe it's just the conservative work ethic of "keep your head down and do the job you're paid to do".

given how much MST3k and Rifftrax once joked about shit that modern "woke" celebs screech about for being problematic/bigoted, I suspect it may have been a case of them only deciding to chimp out and act like hysterical speds over SJW shit once it became trendy to do so in their Z-list internet celeb social circles. the whole franchise was built on topical reference humour, more-so than even family guy, and thus its not surprising most the cast conveniently shifts its stance on things to fit whats popular among the pampered california hipster types who make up their loudest IRL fans

I never saw it as a career opportunity. I was pissed because we were a bunch of spergs nobody took seriously and genuinely got laughed at when we tried to do anything remotely serious. That was just another example of kids being exceptional and not advancing ourselves.

An I still mad about it? No. Its been years. Do I regret getting nuclear mad about it? Sure. If I had the chance would I approach it differently? Of course.

I've always thought this language was excessive. Fraud requires a level of premeditation, and Spoony didn't enter Patreon intending to not deliver. He was in fact very active for a time and determined to fulfill his promises.

Patreon also has the caveat emptor of not legally obliging creators to actually do anything and relying on patrons to revoke their pledge if they're dissatisfied, which is... exactly what happened. The only people still giving him money are delusional fans who think they can spend him back into activity.

Noah definitely takes the Patreon money he has left for granted. He stopped updating it two years ago (June 2016) because he couldn't deal with the shame and criticism.

I think Noah has been resting on the rationalisation that he needs it now so it's okay for him to take it as long as people are offering. This is how Noah solicits money: He doesn't ask, but he will give you the means and passively accept it.

Spoony stopped the entire fucking stream on its tracks just to address me and he wasn't being flippant or angry, he was genuinely concerned because he could empathize with another person going through suicidal depression. Most of it boiled down to "get help, there's no shame in it" etc. and stream continued without any problems.

I occasionally compare him to this modern Spoony and dear god he's long gone. Last I heard him display any emotion was when he was told during a stream that one of his fans had died. The old Spoony wanted to help people, the new Spoony just wants to pity himself over everything. Breaks my heart bad.

Old Spoony was a bit of a sperg still, but goddamn. Real life responsibilities hit him like a truck. It's so sad to see someone who could have been so much more fuck up so hard, especially when that someone was someone relatable and decent at the time.
