I think... its actually a long, complicated issue. I don't think Chris was ever all that interested in doing the Sonichu comic in the first place. That's hard work, and causes too much stress. If Chris was really interested, one would expect he would actually practice drawing, invest in some decent quality paper, charcoal pencils, and other art supplies, and not just scan in the first crappy go at it, complete with typos and... misdrawn abominations with no sense of perspective. Hell, even if we give him the benefit of the doubt and assume that he really believed his efforts were all masterpieces, just look at how long the delays were between issues.
So no, I don't think that Sonichu was ever intended as a comic, and its not just because of Chris' atismu. He always seemed to view them more like TV shows, down to referring to them as "episodes" and giving them TV ratings! More tellingly, he had incredibly elaborate back stories that were only explained in detail on the wiki... or worse yet, only existed in his head canon. I think, for Chris, Sonichu was about wish fulfillment. It was sort of like an imaginary friend for him to go on adventures with, and we were just sort of spectators. Not to mention, Chris sucked as a storyteller. He didn't have a sense of character development, or personality, but more importantly, he never put his characters into any real sense of danger or conflict either. It was more of a sandbox than a linear story.
Between the trolling and forced death of Simonla, Chris has retreated into a more private medium. His Lego universe is more suited to the adventures of Sonichu, and I suspect Chris is still telling the story. Its just that its not really going anywhere, and with his piss poor memory, its likely he doesn't even remember all of the details. More's the pity, because Sonichu was... amusing in its own sort of way.
