Yeah, I'm definitely amazed that his homicidal fantasies didn't cause the psychiatrist to...you know...call the goddamn authorities. .

They did http://kydontexist.livejournal.com/1240.html

He wrote a detailed example of one of his mall shooting fantasies for his therapist and got committed for two weeks.

Don't know if veering off topic or not, but my home state of Florida has the Baker Act which gets you involuntarily committed for a minimum of 72 hours if your psychiatrist deems you to be a threat to yourself or others, which I didn't know about until right before I started seeing a therapist at my school's campus when I was suicidally depressed a few months ago. I basically had to lie to my therapist and tell her about an unrealistic suicide fantasy, in my case about wanting to jump off the Empire State Building (which I actually have been on top of recently and is pretty much impossible to jump off of since they have a curved fence surrounding the rooftop), when in reality I mostly contemplated hanging or overdosing on acetaminophen and just simply slipping away.(:_( I'm not as depressed anymore, but because of social interaction problems I have due to also being on the autism spectrum it's almost impossible for me to make or keep any friends and cope with low self-esteem and peer rejection, so I don't really have as large of a social support net as everyone else.*sigh*

Sorry for the selfish off-topic rambling, I just needed to vent for a second.

Hopefully Nick's family members aren't a bunch of right-wing gun nuts as they are religious nuts, God help us if they are and they aren't locked away from where Nick could reach them.:cryblood:

Oh, huh! I didn't know he had a new-ish LiveJournal--in all honesty I'd been trying very, very hard to pretend he didn't even exist--so I guess I missed that. Good to know that someone is taking some of his shit seriously, I suppose.

Regarding the Baker Act, California's laws seem to be somewhat similar. Quoth Wikipedia: "The criteria for writing requires probable cause. These include danger to self; danger to others together with some indication, prior to the administering of the hold, of symptoms of a mental disorder; and/or grave disability, as noted below. The conditions must exist within the context of a mental illness."

Bolding mine, because that part seems a bit sketchy to me--it makes sense in theory, but since there has to have been some indication of mental illness prior to the hold, it seems like a fair bit of stuff might slip through the cracks...

And ForeverAlonePonyfag, I sincerely hope that you never feel that hopeless again. It's an awful place to be. :(

EDIT: I missed Damoclese_Sword's post, so I'd like to reply that yes, I honestly do. While I'm admittedly unsure of how he'd go about it, that fucker's deranged enough that I have no doubt in my mind that if he had access to something like a gun, he would use it. And, unfortunately, not on himself.

Anna, if you could, could you message me? I have a few questions about him.

Edit: I'm not trying to A-log, there's just questions I can't bring up here, since they might be too personal.

Found this on his Twitter:

Anna, I just wanted to add that I live in the nearest biggish town to Washington Boro, and one of my jobs is at a large tourist attraction in Manheim. I sort of live in dread of a close brush with Mr. Stoutzenberger, since he writes on Twitter about his adult day group taking trips to a park within Lancaster City. If I do see him, I'm not going to try to do anything crazy like getting close on purpose or engaging in conversation, or even trying to get a picture. Avoid, avoid, avoid. But, if the universe fucks with me in some unavoidable and bizarre way and I do cross his path, any and all information will go here.

Hey Anna, just registered to say that I've been following Nick Bate since he was first posted on 789chan and it's fascinating to hear from you about your side of the story. Thanks for coming here and speaking with us.

Hi Anna,

You mentioned having lost your Nick chatlogs. I still have the ones you're talking about, and I can email them to you if you want. They're from 2006-04-09 until 2009-08-23.

If you don't want to respond to me here, Jessa can tell you where to find me.

- Heather
That would actually be quite helpful. I could try to find some more info in there--I remember very little of our private conversations, and it seems like they'd be a goldmine.
