Shit. A few months ago people were saying it had happened, and I didn't believe it... but now that Butch Hartman is gone from Nick that's probably a given.

I'll be honest - compared to most people at CN right now (or Chris Savino, who was once at Nick, scum that he is - glad that he's gone!), Butch Hartman was (and still is, judging by his recent activity) definitely a great person to work with; I just don't like any of his shows, unfortunately (sorry: FOP, DP, and all that? Not my cup of tea at all, even as a damn kid.).
Regardless, it's a damn shame that's the way it is for me; still, unlike most of the people at CN right now (or again, Savino, formerly at Nick, the fucking rapist bitch!), he's still a very respectable person and has a good work ethic, besides being able to actually draw worth a damn, too; something we could stand to see more of in our neck of the woods (The US) when it comes to this craft.
Compare any and all of his works to stuff like Steven Universe, OK KO, and whatever else is considered "beloved" by the likes of 4/8/whatever-chan that isn't Hartman's work... and it's clear how much he surpasses these fuckers in every sense, despite the writing quality, again, not being my cup of tea, when it comes to what a great artist he is.

I love Disney, but if I had to choose an animated movie to watch, it would come from Dreamworks. Other than the singing (I know it's supposed to have singing but it feels unnecessary sometimes) and the predictability, the only issue I have with Disney is how they use settings. They build these magical places in the sky, underwater, in the afterlife, etc and I always end up leaving a theater like we didn't explore enough. I think the only films they made that didn't give me this feeling was Finding Nemo and Inside Out.

The Academy Awards despise animation in general. They threw such a complete bitch fit over Beauty and the Beast being nominated for Best Picture of 1991 that they literally had to make a new rule for the Academy to appease the animation crowd, but also enforce their own bias.
This is why it took until 2001 for an animated film (Shrek) to win anything at the Oscars because it couldn't be activated (and therefore enforced) until then. And Disney still had a fit about it because they lost it to DreamWorks (even though the only animated films they had released that year was Atlantis and Recess: School's Out, and they didn't own Pixar yet; meanwhile I personally believe they threw Lilo & Stitch and Treasure Planet under the bus so Spirited Away could win the following year).

And that would be the first season when they switched from Klasky-Csupo to Film Roman, interesting point to suggest here.

It's hard to tell for me, FR certainly showed more ambition than K-C tried. I suppose it's one of those questions people could go back and forth on, but certainly FR had more years of experience behind them by the time they tackled The Simpson and kept it going for as long as they did.

Let's be honest here, the Academy just doesn't give two shits about movies in general. Animation may get the short(est) end of the stick, but I doubt they give a shit about any of the other movies they nominate.
Remember, they nominated Avatar for Best Picture, and not many people look at it in a positive light these days.

Well, Season 4 and onward isn't bad per say but Season 4 started to make it an overly cartoony show compared with how it was with S1-3. I've heard people complain about how they made Homer an over the top idiot and a jerk in Seasons 9-12 but it seems to me that he actually started behaving that way starting with 4. It may have gotten worse over time but still.

Yeah, I think the the big difference between season 4-8 Homer and season 9-onward Homer is that the writers at least gave him some humanity and humbled him at times.
After that, they just made him the guy who "gets involved with slapstick and ruining people's lives" kind of guy, but by then the changes with the entire cast personality-wise was starting to take hold.

teens/adults who are really into Disney movies are some of the most annoying people on the planet, especially grown women who still obsess over the Disney princesses.

It actually did deserve the awards it actually won, and isn't really an example of Oscars being a complete joke, as compared to, say, Dances With Wolves beating Goodfellas for Best Picture AND Best Director, are you fuckin kidding me? Still pissed off about that nearly 30 years later.

Something about Season Four seems to have amp'd up the character/s surely. The writing certainly gotten sharper from that point on.

Out of curiosity, what's your take on Disney's worst?
Much as the fantasy fan in me has tried I can't really say The Black Cauldron is good (though the books, for children's fantasy, are outstanding).

The Black Cauldron (how did they manage to screw up a Disney film with John Hurt as the bad guy?) and The Aristocats are dull to sit through and the only thing that saves the latter film are the cute cats. People tend to forget horrible Disney schlock like Chicken Little and I can't blame them honestly since I think even Disney wants to forget that. And let's say something about the Disney sequels. Of course most of them are made just to get kids to shut up and there's nothing good about them at all, especially with the cheaper animation. (Although I admit I actually liked the third Cinderella one, amazingly.)
I didn't even bother with Meet The Robinsons, honestly. I know that's a big one that people love but I hated everything about that one.
Worst:
Sequels, Meet The Robinsons, The Aristocats, The Rescuers, Chicken Little, The Black Cauldron, Tarzan (Only because Phil Collins wouldn't shut the fuck up.) and Fantasia 2000 (a horrible sequel to the original which had beautiful music plus gorgeous animation and stories) and Home On The Range which is just plain dumb tbh.

People can say what they want about Don Bluth's bad work after his 80's animated films, but at least they had more charm to them and better animation than these rushed and forgettable Disney films. I'd take The Pebble and The Penguin and A Troll In Central Park or Rock-A-Doodle over that shit any day.

I meant more the fact that it was nominated for Best Picture. That I think went a little too far in my opinion.
