I agree with most of this post, except the quoted part, while you are generally correct about this place frowning on people who give money to lolcows, this isn't the case here.

This guy gave Chris money for something that has actual value in the real world, he didn't give it to him ironically, he didn't give it to him for the lulz, he actually bought used merch from a guy that just happens to be a lolcow, and he has a very clear and predetermined plan on how to move said merch and make money on it.

I actually don't think we disagree; we're just talking about two different things.

I was referring to the kind of responses that certain posts tend to receive, and can be expected to receive. Not about whether such responses are justified in general or in a specific case.

If you can find a better price, buy it there. I can't sell on their market. I sell for TCGPlayer LOW, or lowest price on Ebay. Those are my markets. If I wanted to I could jack up prices and sit on them for a higher profit, but as I said in the first video I try to sell as cheap as possible to offload as soon as possible. That's the beauty of the free market.

I think it's perfectly okay that someone might buy this and try to make a buck off it if they know the value of the cards. I certainly don't. But most people who come here and brag about it have ulterior motives for attention and they usually get it, but not in the way they want.

I do wonder what the profit margin could possibly be with shipping in mind, though. Do people buy single cards or would it be easier to sell the whole thing, or in blocks? Because he said most of the cards are worth like a buck or less.

Over the years people have given Chris so much shit for hoarding childish junk he doesn't need. Now that he's selling old things he doesn't want anymore, people are still finding reasons to bitch and moan about it.

Selling old things to make some extra money is healthy adult behavior. People in this thread have pointed out that his card collection was not obscenely overpriced. What on earth is the issue here?

Let's review: Chris sold a collection that he held onto for many, many years. Someone bought it, thinking it had resale value outside of the fact that it was owned by Chris. The purchaser also figured a community dedicated to stalking Chris might still be interested in seeing the goods ("NO SHIT IS TOO MINOR"), so they came here and showed what they had.

Absolutely no part of this should be controversial. A reasonable reaction should range from complete indifference to mild morbid curiosity. Anything else is stupid. In particular, calling for the buyer's dox is unbelievably dumb, and anyone who did this should figure out why they're so eager to jump on such moronic bandwagons.

The issue, from where I sit, is that we don't need every faggot who buys something from Chris coming here to tell us all about it. Why should this even be a point of discussion? He bought cards and made videos of himself selling them and he's so desperate to tell us about it that he made not one, but two threads. I don't care if he ripped off chris or if chris ripped off him.
