After Universal bought them out and this fucking guy's now overseeing it, I'm worrying for the studio's future. Maybe by some luck their story-telling doesn't take a hit, but the animation for sure is going to dip in quality. That's going to make Shrek 5 look weird. (Pretty sure they're still going to work on it.)

Moana's been brought up every now and then, so I'm going to throw my hat into the ring of the "I like it" opinion. But I have a different reason for why I do, and that is I saw it in a spiritual sense. It's basically a story of a young woman finding herself ("I am Moana, a descendant of voyagers!") , doing soul-searching, and pretty much going through the world of spirits/gods to get to her goal. I understand the Polynesian people are quite spiritual, so it's probably not as far-fetched as I'm making it out to be, but that's the feeling I got when I saw it in the theater. The theme of ancestry also played a part in it, so that helped.

Considering that Maui was originally going to be the main character we were to follow, that might've been the idea they were going for.

Absolutely correct - why else are commonly aired stuff like TTG!, and recently, Unikitty!, the current ratings/viewings top dogs there and not stuff like Social Justice Universe? Because, simply put (over and over again), the kids know what they want. Can't stop nor change that, no matter how much someone older (who shouldn't be wasting their time with this to begin with!) disagrees.

What gets me is people complaining about how Cartoon Network isn't airing the shows they want to see when they can easily stream or pirate the show from the Internet or just buy the DVD.

We live in an age where you can find practically any show on the Internet and these people would still rather have Cartoon Network cater to their tastes. It's nonsensical.

If I were a children my only complain would be that they only have TTG , they need more kid-oriented series.
I mean , if a children don't like TTG he will switch to Disney.

I remember when I was children keeping a show I didn't like because after that begin one that I like.So I hope with anikitty they work to have a decent mix of series for children.
 
I'm pretty sure if the original pitch of Miraculous Ladybug wasn't Anime styled, nobody would've given a shit. The plot sounded really easy to fuck up.

Even the creator apparently regrets some parts of it iirc
