He's not a government official and never will be. He's an officer for a constituency Labour Party, which gives him absolutely no fucking power over anything.

This sort of shit is really common and happens to all the political parties, not just Labour. Getting elected to a position in any local polictical party is really fucking easy because the number of voters that bother to turn up is usually in the single digits, so have half a dozen of your nutjob mates sign up and you've suddenly got a sizeable majority.
To power-level a little, my local Conservative party got taken over by a religious cult a few years ago using exactly that tactic.
