It feels like he is trying to solve an issue that doesn't need to be solved, what we are going to see is another generic, fantasy heartbreaker that dies in obscurity on RPGDriveThru.

For a good example of what happens when you make them huge anyway, check out brother @Randall Fragg's thread on Wraeththu, or perhaps FATAL.

“Unchecked slaughter of sentient beings as a valid (and often only) method of problem solving”
Yes, I’m sure that Hitler fellow could have been convinced to leave everyone alone with a bit of chit chat and mutual understanding.

The kind of research in there would no doubt be considered "Gatekeeping Truscum shit" so Jakey-Wakey should be glad the NatSocs burned it down.

It'll be like the Bates Motel but better.

Actually it would be even better than truscum those files would have been referring to even gay people as filthy sex pervert degenerates. This was the 1920s & 30s we are talking about. Irony being that had the archive survived these idiots would be advocating to burn it themselves because of “hate speech,” hurting their fee fees and tainting the field with bigotry.

I honestly thought that most of what Jake tweets and retweets got on the Farms. I'm not on twitter, and rely on the Farms for Jakey updates. Looked at his actual feed for the first time and the shit that winds up here is just a tiny fraction! Holy shit... the guy just never stops. I just don't get twitter and why ANYBODY submits themselves to that crap on a continuous basis (other than for documentation of cows, of course!)... I guess it's good for NFL fantasy league injury info and stuff like that?

I am under no illusions about the Farms and the content here. That being said, for all the things said about this site, the interaction is so much more polite, reasonable and rational than probably 90% of the twitter feeds and threads I have seen! Offended by something said? Rate it autistic, dumb, or Islamic and just move on with your day...And it's anonymous, while these twitter speds are ranting with accounts tied to their REAL names! You would think an anonymous board dedicated to studying the intersectionalities of transtrenderism, vidya, autism, and sick Japanese fetish art forms would be a little more wild and bitter than a platform where everyone in the world knows who you are and what you are saying! Is this Peak Autism?

Twitter seems like nothing but bile and reaction and insanity... (yes, I'm late, but I have generally avoided Twitter... I knew Tumblr was cancer for a while, but just now waking up to Twitter). For instance, there is this awful Jessica Price person that Jake retweets. Who the fuck thinks, "damn, I need more of that in my daily routine!" ? She's kinda cute in a "don't stick it in crazy" way.

... but she is a totally bitchy sperg, who just vents and rants all fucking day, like a Nora or Bex type. Are people really lacking enough anger in their lives that they willingly sign up for this shit? Baffling to me... At least she admits she is salty and lives by the block. But what is she so salty about? She actually HAS a job in gaming, for something called "ArenaNet". Also, since she has this new job, why does she identify as a "former Microsoftie"? This is twitter, not your fucking resume... Reminded me of Ali Rapp, minus the whoring and pegging and shit... and, yes, they are apparently friends. Here's a nice example of Jessica's style... but nearly all of her feed reads like this. Jake retweeted her contribution to the effort by SJW Twitter to pay off Harpers to NOT run their article on the Shitty Media Men list.

Última edición:
OK, this is starting to piss me off, and not for why you might think.

First: Jake, you fucking sped. The reason that a non-combat PNP RPG haven't been done all that much is because presentation is everything, and while you most certainly can do a PNP adventure with no combat, such options lend themselves better to more traditional games.

Second: It's already been done. There's like eight PNP RPGs that will cheerfully let you indulge non-combat roles, including like 90% of World of Darkness's shit, multiple d20 System games, FATE, GURPS, the James Bond PNP RPG, D&D if you're running a Diplomancer, and potentially even Savage Worlds depending on your DM's personal bumblefuck capacity.

Third: Why the fuck would it be four hundred pages? Even the most ridiculously involved RPG core rulebook seldom breaches 150, with 3rd edition and 3.5 D&D around 200-something a pop. The most expansive core rulebooks I fucking know about, d20 Modern (380 Pages) and OSRIC (404 Pages) are as long as they are because they essentially cram absolutely everything you might concievably need for most games into one single book - everything from creature stat blocks and tactics to campaign setups and treasure tables, so they are, in essence, the equivalent of 3 D&D books in a single book (Player's Handbook, DM's Guide, Monster Manual). Homebrew shit should always start small so it's easy to flesh out and make its own thing. For a good example of what happens when you make them huge anyway, check out brother @Randall Fragg's thread on Wraeththu, or perhaps FATAL.

The fact that Jake keeps insisting that this is not only something new and original, but that it's going to be this involved betrays his own ignorance, and more tellingly, displays that he has no idea what in the fuck he is doing. If ever there needed to be further proof that Jake has no idea how to RPG, it's this shit. Even a fucking RPG-illiterate fucker would tell you that by removing combat entirely, you'd cut the content of a given book by half or more.
I think he is clearly underestimating how many pages he will have to write. Remember, this is the gnome who writes a boatload of tweets that can be summarized by only one tweet.

I firmly believe that if he writes this book of his, it will easily breach 600 pages, and it will be the best doorstop you will ever use.

or something to use as spare paper, when you know it's going to be thrown out anyway like a paper towel

I'm pretty sure most of his "followers" have him muted. Imagine if every fucking shitpost I made gave you a desktop notification. Then multiply that by ten and you have Jake's spew.

At least she admits she is salty and lives by the block.

If I were on Twitter, and someone even had the word "block" in their bio, I'd just block them as soon as I saw that. I'm simple that way.

Which is why you as a GM improvise. Lets say the group explores a dungeon and manage to sneak past an encounter, then award experience and increase the payout in terms of physical items at a later date. The treasury room is a prime candidate or insert a makeshift, poorly guarded armoury where there's space on the map. Say to the players you'll find a way to reward them through alternate means and they'll think less of simply solving something by bashing its head in.

Although my memory is a bit hazy, Unearthed Arcana had alternative rules to cut down on magical items without altering gamebalance overly much by offering inherent bonuses at certain level that mimicked the expected defensive and offensive capabilities if they had these items. Stuff like resistance, AC, attack damage/hit mostly, still something to start with. Pathfinder has something similar as well.

Plenty of RPGs out there have focuses other dungeon crawling and combat, so rather than being snowed in on D&D/Pathfinder he can maybe cast his net a little wider with something like Fate as an easy-to-understand system with a very light distinction between combat and non-combat.
D&D doesn't have to even contain combat. I'm several months into running a vanilla 3.5ed game and none of the players have been in a fight the entire time. They've been in the vicinity of fights, found the aftermath of fights, summoned creatures to buy them a few seconds to avoid fights, but haven't ever become the famed Wandering Kleptomaniac Murder-Hobos.

The fact that so many people are blind to this is just a sign of how uncreative people claiming to be game developers are. These same people tend to really hate systems like Amber Diceless or Over the Edge that actively punish uncreative play because you tend to have to avoid fights.

Someone called out Jake for his "I assume 30 or so people beat me to the punch on the historical manatee point, so let me jump in as the first one to question why the hell they're the only explicitly marine mammal to have hair." comment, he doubled down.

If I recall, that woman was fired last year (from Paizo I think) for attacking people on Twitter. Jake then wanted to know if it was ok for him to ask her for a recommendation. One need only look around the rat king to see why Twitter is awful. You've got idiots like Jake, Nora, Slingblade, Aaron Simpson, etc. spending 10+ hours a day, almost every day, and constantly harassing people, sperging out, lying, etc.

Dopamine is a hell of a drug.

The part where Jake is so certain no men would want to play a game that isn't constant combat is yet another indicator of why he decided to roleplay as a woman online: he thinks he's so outside the norm that it means he's not even a man at all.

Until recently, twitter was limited to 140 characters per message.
Virtual signaling and insults work in that format. Thoughtfulness and complexity, not so much.

This fucking guy. First he comes up with the utterly stupid and obviously wrong fact about manatees being the only marine mammals with hair. It's not like it's an important fact, but he has to say it to show how clever he is. Then someone points out that he's wrong, and rather than say "oh yeah, silly me," like an adult, he has to come up with some spergy explanation as to how he was actually right. He just cannot stand to be seen to be wrong about anything. It's not like he's a marine biologist, no one expects him to be an expert on the subject, yet he has to be seen to be this all-knowing infallible genius. I can't help but feel that with a little humility, he'd be a lot happier.

He and CWC have a lot in common. Although Jake doesn't follow through with his transness and has failed to spin his online presence into fame and financial gain, so he's way more pathetic than CWC.

So a retard is citing another retard about why his own retardation is slightly less retarded.

In Jake's mind the fluidity of gender might as well be races and character classes strictly defined in some 1983 Dungeon Master's Handbook.

Lol! Leveling up is really awkward for D&D and requires an extensive break to update all stats, abilities and skills as well as possibly add new abilities or spells with stuff like pets/familiars on top of that. Plenty of systems have a much more streamlined and less intrusive process.

To become 'better' at fighting the monsters in Call of Cthulu you have to gamble with your sanity. Advancement in terms personal power is at once a reward and a punishment, an inqusitive journalist might end up a crack investigator but a gibbering conspiracy theorist no-one believes.

Don't see the point of simply grinding the characters down, it misses the point of Lovecrat's brand of cosmic horror I think. Searching, reaching for a solution but discover that it's still beyond them or the sacrifices to achieve it was too much and may only have delayed the inevitable.
