Update on the RVD collage:

"Papa Rob and his honey are being abused like as they were "Mr Money in the Bank"; what trouble for the parents." has got to be up there with my favorite CWC quotes.

Now would be a good time to appropriately lower your expectations for that commission. One of the resident CWCki artists here should do their own version of your request. Hell, maybe I will, I love wrestling.

Well, this is it. I just got a text from Chris with my tracking number, and I'll be receiving my True and Honest Black and White Commission on Thursday.

I think he improved it. I'm stoked as fuck for this.

If at all possible, please post your commissions here when you receive them. I'm really excited to see how Chris interpreted your instructions. I guess you are going to get an actual mixed media "collage" that Chris made using cut-outs of magazines. Is that what you were expecting? Either way, these sound really great.

What made Chris want to do a bullying allegory featuring RVD? Why did the Chibi Rob have to be his son?

Chris should have paid attention to this line from a war film that featured "guns, insults and yuck!":

Now, it's time to place bets. Is anyone else figuring the path of least effort was chosen?

It looks like Chris is enjoying this. He seems positively enthusiastic in his messages to Prowldent. He's getting a chance to be creative.

To me, happy Chris creates the best content, because he isn't all defensive and guarded.

This is almost certainly just a brief gap in the dark clouds, but I'm enjoying it while it's here.
Chris loves money more than creativity. If you told him to make the same picture thirty times in a row he'd be ecstatic because it means more Lego bux in his pockets. I agree this is a good opportunity to see more content though, just don't get used to it. When the shitty smelling picture market dries up, he'll whine and then return to isolation.

@Prowldent alone may keep Chris' art career alive.

36 autographs sold for $20 a pop. That's $720 just from pictures of Chris with his signature. This does not include the hundreds in commissioned work. Seems like Chris is rolling in the dough now!! I wonder if he even considers that he's made more from this than he made with a months tugboat... or even that with this much money he'll have to report it for taxes...

It's way too early to speculate on the tax aspect of these sales. I do expect a LOT of posts related to how much Chris owes the IRS, and we've seen a ton of them here already. Even if he does make enough, I really doubt he'll suffer any repercussion for not paying.

Although, taking into account the estimated costs...

$5.30 shipping
$2.00 eBay final value fee
$0.30 eBay listing fee
$0.60 PayPal fees
$0.30 materials fees

That leaves about $11.50 from each autograph, $414 in total. Still not bad considering the effort involved.

I hope that Chris re invest at lest some of it back into the artwork and continues to make commissions that would be awesome.
He is turning into a real paid artist in front of our eyes, even if he it was only do the bad artwork of his past it is good to see

yeah, it's a good haul for sure. Makes me wonder whether or not he realizes that this is a one-time deal.
