At least 27 people have been killed and 27 injured in a Texas church shooting today, law enforcement sources told ABC News.

The alleged shooter is dead, and it appears there is no longer an active threat at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, about 40 miles southeast of San Antonio, police told ABC News affiliate KSAT in San Antonio on Sunday afternoon.

The church's pastor, Frank Pomeroy, told ABC his 14yr-old daughter is among the dead. He added she "was one very beautiful, special child."

A person who said she works at a gas station across the street from the church told ABC News she heard rapid gunfire at around 11:15 a.m., leading congregants from the church as well as customers at the station to run inside for cover.

“We heard several shots and we all started running inside the store,” she said.

“It lasted about 15 seconds. I yelled, ‘Get down! Get inside!’ and we all went into hiding,” said the woman, who said she is 49 but declined to give her name.

She said the gas station locked its doors. "We have not reopened,” she said.

She then that within minutes of the gunfire, emergency personnel had arrived at the scene.

“There were officers that were checking the wounded in here were asking them questions,” she said.

Connally Memorial Center in nearby Floresville told ABC News it has received six people from the shooting.

The FBI and ATF are heading to the scene, ABC News has learned.

Outside the church, police have formed a perimeter and flooded the grounds with emergency and police vehicles, according to KSAT.

A small group of people were seen standing together, holding hands as tears overtook an attempt to pray, a KSAT reporter said.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said in a statement, "The thoughts and prayers of all Texans are with the people of Sutherland Springs as tragic reports come out of First Baptist Church."

"Please join Angela and me as we pray for those impacted by this horrific shooting,” Paxton said.

Just after 3 p.m. Sunday, President Trump tweeted that he is monitoring Texas church shooting from Japan.

The killer has been identified as Devin Patrick Kelley. He was apparently an atheist and was dishonorably discharged from the military due to woman beating and breaking his stepson's skull.

So he's got the sped stare, arrested for drugs and beating women, bad conduct dischargeed from the air force, and in a fit of sped rage killed a bunch of people?

So when are we going to find out he was also a pedophile? Because that's usually the next thing with this type of fuckup. And then they'll be people who don't quite fit in with whichever of the two mainstream parties they belong to.

FIFY.

LOL @ that dead fish eyed autistic stare that autists are known for
Looks more like Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. Treatment did him some good, but you can't repair all the defects unless you catch it really damn early. Strabismus is a known factor for FAS, and the disorder may help explain his long stay in Highschool, not to mention the events since then. There's a solid precedent for FAS murderers, too, something that's a hot topic for the nontrivial disability crowd even in recent years, though it's been floating around for decades.
An ideal situation in my mind would be two-faceted:
  • Gun owners play up societal hostility towards them (as publicly demonstrated by the far left on social media) and claim that they have it especially bad, both locked in mourning for their fellow Church-going Americans and being received with only hostility by their peers.
  • Increased awareness about FAS and how it relates to murderers instead of the typical 'he wus crazy' argument, perhaps leading to negligent alcoholism during pregnancy actually being addressed socially or legally. No, really, do people think new humans are delivered by Stork?
Everyone wins. Except the dead people, but happening after happening have helped make it quite clear that no one actually cares about them.

3 dead. He doesn't even rank as a mass killer. There also seem to be a shitload of such shootings every year in between the ones which make major headlines.
From the way I read it he ran away and tried to flee after basically the entire Wal Mart drawing on him, which made the surveillance video a pain in the ass to make sense of.

Speaking of Infowars, many /pol/tards and conspiratards are already chomping at the bit to find ways to call "FALSE FLAG" with the same amount of respect and dignity as the people who tried to immediately work their gun control agenda into the tragedy.

Or bringing up the Clintons. That poor child-molesting death cult :(

The blue checkmarks and the people who copy/paste the same incisive comment on every Facebook post are out in force after this one. I'm guessing because this takes the heat off of the New York incident. Either way, it's gross. Not even the pretense of caring about the victims this time.

I just realized the irony of anti-Google conspiratards who accuse corporations of lying and spreading misinformation mainly using Google's services to support their mindless conspiracies.

It's amazing how The Man can routinely slip up on something as simple as a Google search.

Notorious Triple K mafia leader and police officer Sam "if I pull over a black they'll never come back" Hyde is at it again.

Do we have a community watch thread yet for the conspiratards who say "False flag" every time a disaster occurs?
