I'm surprised they haven't kicked off the mods or users yet. But I'm guessing it's only a matter of time.
 
Holy shit, how the mighty have fallen. It's nice to see the mods and active users attempting to salvage it but at this point it seems like it would be easier for them to just jump ship and start a new site rather than desperately clamber about trying to hold the husk together.

Well NeoGAF's was more publicized and involved the site's leader and not just contributors. But this is certainly the icing on the cake.
 
Yahtzee has always been the only thing good about the Escapist. Somehow, after all these years, he still hasn't lost his chops.

Oh, and Critical Miss was pretty good too. That's all I'll miss though. Good riddance.
 
Now that nearly all of the paid staff are gone, The Escapist wants to stay afloat by becoming community-run.

A.k.a. they're asking volunteers to do all of the paid stuff for free.

Depends, wasn't he one of the original founding members of the Escapist?

I'd fully expect him to be one of the last ones left once all the mods, users and other behind the scenes people make their leave.
 
I legit didn't even realize Yahtzee was still around. I don't really spend much time on youtube begging faggot numales to teach me how to play children's toys.
