Which brings my thoughts to this special twitch event he's involved in - I guarantee that he'll try his best to do this differently than his usual shite. Phil knows his usual shite puts people off. The "realest motherfucker on the Internet" is a going to change for this event in the hope of luring more money from the gullible.

his gameplay commentary is legitimately the worst I've ever come across and it's gotten worse as the years have gone on. I think you're right that he will try to switch it up for the Twitch event, and it'll probably come off as very forced and cringey. Like that one stream when Zelda or Nioh came out after he had a big 'dire financial straits' meltdown and decided to be 'more engaging'. For sure he won't get him shilling the bits, tips and cheers during the Twitch feature event. I bet we don't get him mentioning the various methods people can support him with internet welfare bux.

If the Twitch event is happening (which it might not be) it's probably going to be Phil getting bombarded with meme questions about Leanna and gout and him completely ignoring 99% of chat or interactions from the audience and trying to put on a cheerful facade.

I would like to think that this would help him, being social and helping with his current mind state. It is sad to see him be a hermit and detoriate on stream. You would think this would be good for him, but I feel like he is going to treat it like Twitter IRL and get into arguments and call everyone "morons". That or people awkwardly avoiding the pudgy 35 year old Wayne Knight lookalike in the Sonic hat burping and yelling at the monitor like a lunatic.

(This is a longer post relating to Twitch in general, but I'm sure it will relate to what Phil's "business" is going to be reliant on in the months/years to come)

I'm assuming its just gonna pretty much play like an episode of Black Mirror. Where they're trying to make streamers by a part of people's living rooms and the interaction will be based upon that. I'm thinking there will be game rule votes and stuff like that to make the stream feel 'interactive' for people who weren't alive during the era of phone-in votes on TV.

Just take whatever was amazing about voting for shit on TV (Like Big Brother or American Idol) and it basically just be some way for users to do something similar with a more immediate/gratifying effect than was possible on TV.

It's not like this is some new idea either, companies like CISCO have been exploring it for everything from malls to clothing stores for like a hundred years:

Obviously the implementation wouldn't be the same with Twitch, but it'll most likely be a very similar concept. It'll be taking those bits, subs and cheers that Phil loves so much, and giving more 'value' to the user by making stupid sound effects like a video poker machine. I guarantee they hired a room full of psychologists specializing in addiction and sales strategies to get maximum jew bucks out of it. Heck they probably flew in BSV to study what a "Twitch cheer addict" is like IRL.

Also the technology to accomplish this is a lot cheaper and more accessible than the concept days. It's just about "the next generation" of user interaction. You'll be able to dress up the streamer and play with some fun applets or pay to 'join' the streamer in their game somehow. Keep in mind that the nature of 'celebrity' has changed hugely, now there are many dozens of internet 'personalities' that people aspire to.

So Twitch has this "Gear on Amazon" shit where people can buy things their favorite streamers use. Obviously Phil has a shitty setup so no one is gonna buy anything he uses.

Phil already doesnt see his rampant begging and horrific one dimensional commentary as a problem, so why would he change that when he's thrust in front of (what he believes to be) a wider audience? The man has zero self awareness so there's going to be no change to his style whatsoever, except perhaps a little less swearing and vitriol (which arguably are the only things that make him mildly interesting).

Maybe I'm being too naive in thinking that Phil isnt aware of his fucking awful content and pan-handling, because how shameless would he have to be to acknowledge all of that and then still do it?
