idk if a major news outlet has really picked it up yet, I hope this leads to an arrest.

REPORT: Antifa “U-Lock” Attacker From Berkeley Identified as College Professor Eric Clanton

There is an interesting report going around Twitter and it can be sourced to the sleuths over at 4chan’s /pol/ board. According to this report, the guy who was violently attacking free speech supporters at Berkeley (with a fucking gigantic metal lock, by the way) is none other than a college professor
Yes, I know you all will be just as shocked as I am to learn that academia has a violent thug in a professorial position. That’s pretty much unprecedented!

Meet Eric Clanton, who has a degree from San Francisco State University (SFSU), although the only proof I see of him teaching there is this professor rating page. It’s been trolled to hell, so I wasn’t able to reach back and find real reviews. I’ll work on that.

He does teach at Diablo Valley College for sure, because here’s his faculty page from that institution. His alumnus page at SFSU has curiously been scrubbed since this digging began. I wonder why that could be?

His Twitter account has already been deleted by him, so don’t bother trying to look for old material there. But, if you click the archive link above, you can find a copy of the Google cache.

Here’s some photographic evidence from the /pol/ board…

I must say, this appears to be pretty compelling evidence. I will be back to update this post with more as it becomes available.

MORE: His OkCupid profile seems to lend even more credence to this report…

Some of his past work (A Feminist Critique of Human Nature Essentialism). I’m going to look at finding some of his research papers next…

Here’s a newspaper reports on this guy’s crusade for…wait for it…ethics.

/pol/ can identify this guy in 2days. FBI & NSA can't catch a livestream murderer carrying his cell?

So much for the Trillion$ deep state!

Oh please, let that be enough to get him into trouble. It would be so fucking hilarious.

But I doubt it - at most he's being a nuisance, and that certainly does not seem enough to be in conflict with the terms of his bail, does it?

It's pretty standard terms of release that you don't hang out with the criminals you committed your original crime with.

I don't know what Clanton signed, or whether it was a bail bondsman, or whether it was something where his parents put up their house.

Even if it doesn't directly violate the terms of the bail agreement with the state, it could cause a bail bondsman to pull out of the agreement, revoke the bail and send him back.

Update: he's out on 100k bail and his preliminary hearing was rescheduled from earlier this month to late next month. Eric released a salty statement that amounts to a Scooby Doo villain lamenting he would have gotten away with it if it wasn't for those pesky kids at 4chan.

“Dealing with an unintelligible internet force smearing and threatening me online was not easy, and created stress to say the least, but I had every expectation that very few people would take them seriously, especially considering the character and credibility of their sources,” he wrote in the statement. However, many online began questioning why the Berkeley Police Department was not arresting Clanton.

In his statement, Clanton alleged that he was told by a Berkeley officer, during an interview at the police station, that “the internet did the work for us.” The 4chan users also congratulated themselves for leading the police to Clanton and cheered his arrest.

idk Eric, internet mobs are proletariat af. This is some primo orwellian double think.
Clanton’s attorney Dan Siegel confirmed that the August statement was indeed written by his client.

In it, Clanton said police should not rely on the work of the angry online masses.

“My case threatens to set a new standard in which right wing extremists can select targets for repression and have police enthusiastically and forcefully pursue them,” he wrote. “All of this moves in a strategy to further chill dissent, and to clamp down on resistance to the dangerous and aggressive growth of the exact kind of white supremacist violence that we saw this last weekend” in Charlottesville, Virginia, he wrote.

Boy, you hit some rando in the head with a bike lock. There's no justification for that shit.

“My case threatens to set a new standard in which right wing extremists can select targets for repression and have police enthusiastically and forcefully pursue them, instead of just letting them smash people in the heads with a fucking bike lock for not being a left wing extremist"

Good.

Hope they put him away for a nice long time.

He hit multiple randos on the head with that bike lock. He was a serial assailant with a deadly weapon. He was and remains a terrorist.

God damn,

should really not be taken lightly.

The Clanton thing was amazing.

The Shia shit was astounding.

But where I finally went "okay I'm never fucking with /pol/ again ever" was when they LITERALLY FUCKING CALLED IN AN AISTRIKE ON ISIS. The "weaponized autism" meme is literal.

If he had any brains he'd snitch off his comrades.

He could be just still making radical noises to look like that isn't exactly what he's doing. The delays in the case could be while they're negotiating to do exactly this. I don't actually think this is the case, but this guy is a fucking weasel and I wouldn't trust him, solely because he's a professor of ethics, which means a completely amoral creep.

This has not been a good year for ANTIFA, BAMN, or any group associated with them. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they still can't figure out why the larger population is turning against them. It has to be terrifying to these idiots who dedicated their entire lives to building this racket to watch it be destroyed by a bunch autists on an image board. How there there better years of marching and shouting inane slogans are now seen as outdated and laughed at with even other leftists abandoning them. All I have to say is: LOL!
