Case in point, you can kill any pal or human in Palworld. You can also capture/enslave almost any pal and human. I say almost, because in the past you could capture tower bosses (a pal and their human tamer that count together as one individual unique pal), but they tried to patch it out and I'm not sure if you can still do that without mods in 1.0. Either way, there's no "uwu we have to protecc wahmen" horseshit going on, the devs embrace the comedically unethical nature of the setting and just let players have fun climbing in power and having freedom to do whatever they want with it.
 
People are saying that the entire studio should get fired for this as if this hasnt been the MO for every Triple A title regardless if it flops or not

There was also a depiction in the episode The Duel of Halo Legends, but it's a series of films with varying art styles by a handful of Japanese studios including Bones and Production I.G. Not every episode was a winner, but it was a fun series.

The Duel was interesting because it was animated like a mosaic and it played out like an old samurai film. Very Asian-styled, but I think it thematically fits.

I wish the games would have added Haka's sword at some point. A two-handed Sangheili sword goes hard.

not really no, it's just that anything other than a SR or a RL is shiiiiiiiiiiiit.
you give a ODST or a private any of these two guns they can easily kill a hunter, you give them anything else they get rekt.
 
Thanks for reminding me that I need to stop being a lazy nigger and finish 2,3, and ODST as well as replay 1 and maybe reach on the MCC.
 
The most annoying thing about the Halo CE remake Williams is that she shares the same name as Ashley Williams, another marine from Mass Effect 1, a game that was clearly inspired by Halo. (it came out in 2007 and shares more than a few similarities with Halo) Except unlike the Halo CE remake Williams, Ash Williams was actually a good, nuanced character. She's supportive of Shepard, whether or not Shepard is male or female, and is willing to share her bed with the former, but she has her own baggage of her family being disgraced because her grandfather was a general who surrendered to aliens to save a human colony. As a result, she's not the biggest fan of aliens, but she does learn to play ball with alien allies. She has a martyr complex and chews you out if you choose to let Lieutenant Kaidan Alenko die in her stead in the Virmire mission, and you can call her out on that. But she's a genuinely strong, independent female who is a well-made character.

In comparison, Halo CE Williams is just Sarah Palmer with extra girlboss. Hating the shit out of the Chief even though he's literally the closest thing the UNSC has to a messiah, and her only real help when they meet. The problem is, it makes little sense here, because she's a prisoner in a Covenant capital ship. If Chief didn't show up, she'd likely get captured again, or just get killed by the Covenant when they realize holding her captive is useless, since she broke out once already. ODST or not, she should be thanking God someone came to help her. Maybe have her say something like "I'm not a big fan of Spartans, but thank God you're here, at least you're human." Her situation should've made her be more accepting of help. It's not like Major Antonio Silva where he hated the Chief because a Spartan killed some of his men in practice, but then his squad got off the Pillar of Autumn safe and sound. Williams isn't in any position to balk at the people coming to help her. Beggars can't be choosers, after all.

I remember how Shadows of the Empire introduced Dash Rendar and had him show respect to Han Solo. And how Jedi Outcast had Kyle Katarn show deference to Luke Skywalker. The people who made those games had their OCs show respect to the franchise main characters. If only the people who wrote Williams' dialogue showed the same respect to Master Chief. Especially since this whole "ODSTs hate Spartans" thing was from the books; ODSTs in the main OG games always showed respect to the Chief and aided him however they could, even at the cost of their lives. Even in the books, when Antonio Silva expressed his disgust for the Chief, it wasn't because he thought Chief was some PR stunt wrapped in silly armor; he thought Chief was a dangerous freak, and that it'd be better for regular humans to win the war. And that was a private opinion that he had; his own soldiers, like Lieutenant Melissa McKay, disagreed with his thoughts on the Spartans.

the only good thing 343 did was remove that gay "we wuz forerunna and shieet", this gay trope was never fun because the fags that do this shit think it's fun to mention what happened rather than having you do all of the fun shit they mention like warcrimes.

Actually, I prefer the whole "WE WUZ FORERUNNERS AND SHIT" plotline. It basically made the Human-Covenant War a tragedy. The Prophets find out that the humans are the children of their gods, so to keep that truth from coming out, they declare a fatwa on mankind and lie to their people, saying that the humans' very existence is an insult to their gods, when in reality, their gods would've wanted them to serve and work with the humans. It was basically the Parable of the Bad Tenants in Star Wars format.

But with 343's changes to the lore, the Prophets, who were infamous for being liars, now speak the truth; the Forerunners were a separate race from mankind, and they fucking hated mankind. If the Forerunner Didact (essentially their shogun) was rescued during the Human-Covenant War, he'd definitely tell the Covenant hierarchs that they were right to declare a fatwa on mankind. He'd probably lead the anti-human jihad himself, leading Covenant forces in a nonstop crusade to eradicate the thorn on the Forerunners' backside that is mankind.

as opposed to the prophets still lying about humanity but with the new alien race instead of humans being the forerunners? that was the only thing 343 did right, although it was to justify their gay didact shit but it was great as it didn't change anything from the covenant side, they still niggers that hate us and the forerunners also hate us because they ain't us, the ones chosen by the flood to guide the stars.

The whole point of the Prophets was that they were a bunch of lying shitheads. By making their biggest lie into a truth, that undermines their entire character and the ironic tragedy of the main war in the Halo franchise.

at best the "halo not being a weapon" lie is the one that is kept.
