Worked out for me once - between high school and uni I worked as a waiter during the summer, and this one american tourist drank more than a bottle of whisky throughout the afternoon and evening.
His bill was like 1000+ of local currency (so somewhere around 300 bucks at the time). Dude paid a thousand dollars, tables were busy so it took me a bit to go pick up the money, by that time he was far away, I had to run like 1.5 km to give him his money back, he left me a $300 tip for being honest.
