Reddit is really problematic to the internet eco-system. Because it centralises basically all communities it kills other forums. The other top two tennis forums now even look like reddit. But that then means that it becomes really hard to kill, because you can just ignore the enshittifcation by sticking to only the subreddits you like. (Especially with RES + the Home page where you make your own reddit front page now.

What's wrong with kiwi farm's layout? This is classic forum format and it's what I remember from my teenager years and it works really well. Now everything is fucking reddit.

In theory I like Reddit's ability to collapse parent comments, so you can hide away comments you've read before and chains that don't interest you. But the upvote system doomed the site to circlejerks and hiveminds even long before it was astroturfed and botted and jeeted.

Ultimately I prefer a classic experience like KF.

I think the ability to downvote might've been worse, but ultimately what doomed it was the discord super-moderation groups and active sculpting of the community by the admins IMHO. They very explicitly aimed for what they got.
