The only thing that he caught heat with the anime community was when was lying with his wife about her being replaced with a union VA and supporting the Mihoyo SAG ARFTA union strike. However, Takahata101 is a different story since he was one of the known members of TeamFourStar who supported #KickVic including taking jabs at him years before the movement started. Fast forward 2025, some allegations began to surface about Takahata due to being romantically involved with a VTuber and allegedly sexually assaulted her.

Eventually, the claims were false which the accuser would later claimed that she done it because she had feelings for him and he didn't the reciprocate towards her. But in reality, she only confessed because Takahata had released his own statement and was seeking legal action. It almost sounds painfully familiar.

The funny thing is if you read between the lines of what she wrote, she was okay doing a reunion, just not having it advertised. It was like she and Vic could be "secret friends". Matches the middle school mentality of American voice actors.
