I think it's also because 1) he was the very 1st celebrity to do that and they couldn't deal with it and 2) he also had enormous cachet with them. It might be hard to remember now but Linehan was widely considered one of the funniest TV writers in English and he was a geek superstar, doing a whole TV show about IT guys (which are what 30? 50%? of trannies). Trannies considered that as much a betrayal as they would with Rowling. He was meant to be one of them.I don't agree with that, troons are mostly terminally online retards, not some savvy people with connections to high society except for a very few.
There are too many low IQ of them that mob together that there's no one who could tell the low life to shut up, and if anyone had told them to shut up they wouldn't be able to be quiet about it either.
And it's not like their more respectable allies are any better.
Just look at how they don't go after any man with a questionable past or present, no matter if they oppose troons or not.
Men get a pass because they are men, there's nothing that makes a troon angrier than a woman saying no.
I mean, who do you think the establishment would tell to be quiet in this instance?
I think the reason they went after Lineham is because of his frankly cowish reaction to them, they realised they could have a lot of fun if they kept poking him.
Simple as that.
