The latest surveillance situation is easy to resolve. Simply ban federal, public, private orgs from active mass surveillance and from selling PII(may need to redefine to include videos and pictures of individuals) and from retaining PII they don't need to function(where function is defined as serving the best interest of the general public or consumer). Every instance needs to have a single, justified target, with signed warrants, and if you abuse power, you get sued.
The only problem is nobody competent outside of government and "good" ever has enough money to push for these laws, and get them passed unmolested without gay shit in them. So instead, what you can do is super basic activism.
Call the US Capitol Switchboard at 202 224 3121, give them your ZIP to be connected to your rep, and politely tell them or voicemail them what you think and want. ex.. "Hi XYZ, this is KiwiName at 999 Constitution Enjoyer Road. I think Flock/Palantir/ETC.. surveilling every American is disgusting and reprehensible, and the crowd sourcing of surveillance needs to be stopped. I want this banned and legislated so nothing like it can be done in the future. Thanks, have a nice weekend/holiday/whatever."
