Why are they suddenly cheaper than they were before?

Someone earlier said this is why they can afford the insane price of DDoS at this scale, but the question becomes: If that is the case, why weren't these DDoS attacks occurring non-stop as soon as KF lost Cloud Flare's protection? If they had government infinibucks to spend, this place would've been DDoSed to oblivion years ago.

He uses Tartarus. Tartarus works well, but the problem is the bandwidth. Sure you can have a 1TB/s connection, but when a botnet floods it with more than that, it locks out anyway because of the bottleneck, not a failure of the DDos program. I don’t know shit about IT, and all it took was reading up on DDos attacks and how they function to figure out how it all works.

I don't know what kind of infrastructure he has but I know he's successfully running Gab out of a barn in Pennsylvania. Perhaps there is a mismatch between how you see the purpose of the forum, and how we the users see it.

Is it a gossip forum? Or are we fighting crimes? You seem to be focused on the crime fighting aspect, and hence documenting and staying on the clearnet is important. But is that what majority of the user base is here for? Or are we here to gossip and shitpost?

Clarifying expectations is important because these are two very different purposes which require very different behaviors, and maybe very different websites. the way forward looks very different based on what we agree the purpose of the farms is.

my impression is that the farms are primarily a gossip forum + a place to shitpost and have fun for majority of the users. At the same time, the issues the forum is facing come from the smaller subset of dedicated users documenting *acrual crimes*. While I respect and support this work, there are other venues to report crimes. And perhaps these two purposes need to be divorced from one another.

In any case, this is my observation and I will leave it here in case it helps move the conversation forward in a productive way.

I saw that LCF was down and a lot of people were upset, which kinda hurt because my forum is awesome, but it's obvious there are some topics best discussed anonymously.

I am burned on anonymous imageboards. It's not happening again. However, I'm amused by the idea of a pseudo-anonymous imageboard.

So this is the pitch: a women's only app that uses one of those third party ID verification companies to only permit women.

Mate, they want to kill the farms specifically because of how good we are at phonebooking the degenerates. They’re worried that we could go “Citizen Vigilante” at any given moment since the user base here is worldwide and we have a strong desire to see subhumans and troons who commit crimes against children as well as sick fucks who abuse animals hunted down and thrown into wood chippers or see them twisting in the wind. They aren’t attacking the farms because they hate us. They’re attacking because they fear what we stand for.
