See, I feel like information was more valuable with scarcity, and back in say the civil war, whatever the last thing you heard was would loom in your mind for weeks or whatever

The midterms are in November 2026. The rule took effect in Dec 2025. That's 11 months earlier. The statutory authority to do this was rolled into the OBBB, which was passed on July 4, 2025. Key elements of the OBBB were being worked on before the 2024 election.
