TLDR: Application failure caused the coating to peel at the seams. The coating ideally needed to be done in one job, not panels but the reflecting pool is so big they had to do it in sections. This caused adhesions issues. That 300ft gash Trump crashed out about is just a seam for one of the sections. Good news is, the concept works, the whole pool coating isn't doomed to failure, it can be fixed somehow. The rush to get it done quickly for Trumps birthday/ 4th of July didn't help, but the project is salvageable. Im not gonna comment about the algae because I think thats a non-issue since they failed the flush the pipes or something and can be resolved with time.

if you do even a little digging you learn the original refelcting pool ALWAYS had a leakeage issue so if you have a swimming pool you already know that the issue is a compromised substrate and you have to do a massive project to dig up the earth on one side of it, get under the original foundations and reinforce them and back fill the lost sediment, until thats done there will continue to be massive leaking and no coating will ever "take" because its not able to be applied to a even surface.
