Sony hate thread

It doesn't matter what it is, what matters is what it tried to imitate you fucking retard. Almost every shooter back then tried to copy COD, you clearly weren't around for it.
I’ve looked up a development interview on Killzone 2. I didn’t see Call of Duty mentioned anywhere. I’m sure they were aware of how Call of Duty modernized first person shooters; that doesn’t mean they’d intend to fully copy and rip off Call of Duty.

Oh, and Killzone’s PvP, AFAIK, is class based with gadgets to play with. By your logic, it copied Battlefield as well. Let’s go further and said that Call of Duty ripped off Half Life because it’s a linear focused shooter.

COD did rip off Half Life though. It is a direct Descendant of that model. Like it's direct ancestor is Medal of Honor Allied Assault, but what that game tried to do (and FUCKING FAILED) was take the heavy scripting elements of Half Life and marry it with a WW2 setting which was in vogue at the time. COD itself took that and even dialed it more to the encounter rate and more straightforward level design closer to Half Life just without the puzzles that it had. Its like how Duke Nukem 3D and later Bioshock are descendants of Doom

Killzone 2 and 3 share a ton of design elements with COD. No game aped the feel 1 for 1 so it being slower would also be like saying Halo isn't like it's forebears Unreal and UT because it's slower

Re-read this sentence several times and then check the date on when the game was released. You're an idiot if you think Call of Duty wasn't the sole driving factor of Killzone 2(and 3), Modern Warfare 2 was the hottest game ever released at the time and every single FPS wanted to make their own iteration of it.

Don't forget that COD still uses Quake Engine as a base, so there is DNA of that too in it.

I guess after Ford created the Model T automobile, you’d consider every subsequent automobile a ripoff of Ford?

Killzone 2 released in February of 2009. Modern Warfare 2 released in November of 2009.

But would you call either Bioshock or Duke Nukem a DOOM clone?

You really are a dumb motherfucker. The game was one of the most hyped in the franchise's history, people who didn't play COD were excited for it when trailers and teasers came out, it became a cultural phenomenon overnight(even bigger one than it became when COD4 came out). You clearly weren't there, which is why your dumbass posts have zero meaning.
But would you call either Bioshock or Duke Nukem a DOOM clone?
Case and point, what the fuck does this even mean? Duke Nukem 3D likely was called a DOOM clone since that's what FPS games were called at the time. Since you clearly know nothing about gaming, consider this some free education.

Nah, emulating modern consoles is actually even easier than emulating old ones. Modern systems use well-documented commodity hardware and all software runs in a hypervisor using exclusively high-level APIs. There's no emulating specific hardware quirks or accounting for baroque architectural rules - it's basically a wrapper API to translate Sony or Nintendo special sauce 3D APIs into vulkan and maybe a dynarec if you're dealing with different ISAs.

ShadPS4 can be run on a potato and I expect PS5 emulation to be doable on the mid-range gaming PCs of today and the potatoes of the 2030s (assuming they keep going with the project).

You are absolutely wrong on all levels.

If you think a potato PC can run a ps5 emulator you are not only wrong, but an absolute retard.

Sony are at levels of ego not seen since the reveal of the PS3. They are convinced you are too fucking stupid/in love with the Playstation brand to even conceive of alternatives.
All Sony exclusives should be pirated out of principle alone thanks to their arrogance.

This isn't the days of the pre-8th gen where a lot of potato/lower-mid range PCs hardware barely out did the consoles that existed and you needed to save for better hardware if you were stuck with that low a budget., since the 8th generation, consoles have gotten so close to PCs that people were able to find the closest analogs to PC GPUs, where the only difference being the whole SoC vs seperate CPU and GPU, security modules put in, etc.

You wrote all that, but then you forgot we were talking about a POTATO PC, not a gaming PC or even a standard PC. Once again, you know nothing. Now go and google another irrelevant tidbit to "prove me wrong" and seethe for an entire page over a technicality even tho he is 100% right, you dumb nigger.

Not an argument, not on topic, and you're still wrong. But then again, what would one expect from a green redditor?
Not worth the disk space.
My question is, what exclusives? If it's on PC it's not an exclusive then. How many TRUE PS5 exclusives are there?

You need your pink triangle back, you're still buttblasted over being told to type some letters into a search engine while going on about how you're totally right with no source.

And my source for this claim is the past handful of posts you made on the thread alone.

the biggest thing sony have for them regarding piracy is that the game are fucking big. sure i can add all the pgks i want on my modded ps3 but why the fuck i would download ghost of transexual, transfer it to the ps5 via ftpps or whatever the fuck you have to do to play pirate games on a console nowadays

It seems all ____-killers end up failing and the only thing that actually kills ____ is the thing itself (e.g., Halo, WoW, CoD)

Tangentially anyone remember the hype for Brink before it fell off a cliff?
It is really funny given the current absolute state of Halo to think there was a time when it was the industry standard for console FPS. There are presumably kids who've been born and only lived in a world where Halo is a punchline, like having the Prequels be your first Star Wars experience.

As for Brink, I saw a 360 copy going used for $1 recently and was gonna pick it up but I don't know if it even works any more. It's also free on Steam.

I agree except for the fact that all the recent exclusives are shit. I wouldn't even pirate God of War Ragnarok.

TL;DR: Discs for XBOne and XBSX/S have unique cryptographic keys for identification for these to be converted to digital licenses. Older original Xbox and X360 discs are not compatible for this program.
They actually stamped unique keys onto each and every individual physical disc they pressed for the systems? That's pretty impressive just from a manufacturing standpoint; the whole point of "stamping" discs was the "economy of scale" element -- you're making a copy of one thing over and over. I wonder how they managed to make that financially viable on the production line.

The only reason Halo was hyped that much was because of Microsoft bribing the western gaming media to a ridiculous degree, including free systems for home use, free Live and free access to PartnerNet to play whatever they wanted for free.

Halo 2 and 3 were genuine, it was not just babby's first FPS but also first console online experience for most people. The only reason Halo hype died was because COD killed it and took over that role, and that lasted for years. It only started to wane when people switched over to hero shooters like Overwatch.

People need to be reminded, back in the early 00s day, frathouse douchefucks did not play videogames or consume electronic entertainment. They just didn't, it was all just banging girls, cars, crashing them, traveling and then working in daddy's big business. Halo and Xbox changed all of that, Halo multiplayer forever changed that.
