As far as why it's music from their youth, most people's music taste is informed before they're fourteen. It helps that there was a definite higher average quality in music from 1969-1974 where all these musicians had to drive to experiment with conventions of the medium and the record labels were happy to front the money because they'd get their cut regardless. These weren't obscure groups either, they were making mainstream money. This isn't something that happens anymore; the best you can hope for is an enthusiast wanting to emulate genre conventions at the time, but usually that results in something too derivative or too anchored to how it is received on social media.

And they use plastic for fucking EVERYTHING. There's NO REASON to have a plastic honeycomb CORE SUPPORT. They also prescribe doodoo oil grades that make the engine shit itself (GM had a problem with that in their truck V8s recently) prematurely just because they want .2 more MPG, the styling is absolute trash across the board, and they spy on you. TELEMETRY. I just gotta say 1 word to prove why these things are hot dogshit, TELEMETRY. Google it. The six figure apprenticeships are just bullshit, those are purely within the journeyman or crew leader type of classifications. Those are pretty sweet but by your 40s, you’ll have had several surgeries for back, knee, etc. issues. If you’re in your 50s, you can barely fucking move. You make $150k by the time you’re 25 but you can barely function by 50, no choice but to retire by 60. It’s fucking wild.
Most trade jobs are nonunion which means the pay is lower, the benefits are fewer, you’re more likely to get laid off and you’re competing against spics who do a shittier job but they’ll claim to be a plumber for $15 an hour. Scholarships for most trades are pretty much useless... the real reason for those courses is the hands on work experience that opens up the door for people without contacts.
Anything taught in a classroom comes a distant second to that. I recall the local college tried to do away with the work experience part of one of their programs... think it was electrical. No one was hired from the graduating class and usually they had close to 80%.
