Not entirely true, given the ending of Chapter 5. Lancer's the one who helps Susie make Noelle's room and she gives him a piggyback ride when she first arrives in the Dark World.

Why would people in the Deltarune thread try to hide their unabashed thoughts on Deltarune with 10 layers of irony? No one here gives a shit if you like the game as it is. You don't need to larp as a groyper and smear swastikas and dead troonjaks all over your posts to get away with expressing your opinions on the game. You can just talk about it normally.
Krusieposting especially is 90% just people talking about the relationship and characters directly (or tangentially making fun of Toby fox's lesbian obsession) as it's presented in the story, not making Agartha edits of Susie to obfuscate their actual feelings. That kind of stuff is just memes people occasionally throw in for cheap yuks.
If people make chud posts here about the game it's because they're trying to explore the game through a chudly lens or they're joking, not because they're afraid that the other posters will bully them if they aren't chuddy enough.
Ultimately, most people here have long since accepted that the game will probably die as a pile of shit and there is no "saving" it from the usual suspects. It's fate is almost certain, but there's juuuuust enough gems buried amongst the coal to make talking and theorizing about it still hold value. For all my outright disdain towards parts of this game, especially shit like Chapter 5, I do still find most of it entertaining and I do want it to be better. There's value in engaging with it earnestly.
Going into Undertale I was already fed up like a motherfucker with the retarded fanbase, but the game itself was enjoyable enough that I came away with an overall positive experience. The gameplay was simple but fun, the characters were silly but didn't overstay their welcome, and the humor was very tumblr-y but mostly palatable. It had plenty of issues, but I still enjoyed it.
If Deltarune can manage to be an overall good experience then I can tolerate the dumb shit that pisses me off right now a lot more in retrospect, and the fact the game isn't finished yet means that that possibility still hangs over my head.
Honestly I think Fox should've just gone into hiding for a decade and released it all at once, the episodic shit is really starting to become more trouble than it's worth. At least then I could just make up my mind all at once like with Undertale.

It brings me no pleasure to talk about the game shitting itself to death, it's heartbreaking. It feels a lot like the decline of Primus, early in their career their music was revolutionary and nothing like it had ever been done before, then over the years they gradually devolved into generic stoner rock garbage.
It's a modern AAAfag tactic (Foxenstein is working with Nintendo right now, so it fits), it brings him more continous revenue than one game release with a fixed price. Mainly, it gives more of an opportunity to sell merch and other miscellanea, which the goyim buy while waiting for another update\chapter.

I like TF2, for example. The game is poorly maintaned by Valve, the matchmaking system it implements since 2016 is uncomfortable and always matches up incomplete teams, etc. There is also a lingering threat of bots invading official, Casual Matchmaking servers. So I play on Community servers (A specific one). It not only improves the experience but also makes it more in line with how it's supposed to be. It's just TF2 itself (A class-based team shooter), but without the new additions. I don't force myself to eat shit in Casual and just play the way I want to.
Although, in your case, you're marooned. You have to actively imagine or pick out bits and pieces of something good out of the overall experience, because either way you go, the game is designed poorly (Only two "routes" and most choices are made for you already). It's not that you can only enjoy it ironically, you're enjoying the peripheral\specific content, not the game as a whole.
The equivalent would be getting a plate of spoiled steak, dirty mashed potatoes doused in feces sauce with a side of pristine, freshly washed peas - and then dicussing how the peas save the whole dish. All you niggas are masochists.

Deltatroon is unfinished, but the dev team already made a decision for this specific story element. It's like reading a serial novel and writing down what you would've done different if you were the writer.

Or, somehow, recover the momentum lost in chapter 5 and manage to reach a satisfying conclusion. Doesn't matter if you have to beat the game multiple times, like in Undertale, to reach the finale.

I think the main problem stems from the fact that the core of game is still mostly good, at least to the tastes of a lot of people here, but there's enough bad shit that creeps in on top of it that it becomes unignorable. If it were just 99% irredeemable garbage and 1% good ancillary stuff then just dropping it entirely would be a no-brainer, but there's enough potential here that it becomes harder to just toss it all into the trash when you already got a bunch of shit that you like.
As-is it's like 70% gem and 30% coal.
To me, it's like if you got a really good steak but the sauce it came with tastes like shit and the waiter took forever to even give it to you. You could write off the entire restaurant, that's completely reasonable, but if you really, genuinely liked the steak then it just leaves you questioning why the steak was so much better than the rest of the meal and how easily the restaurant could hypothetically get their shit together if they bothered to try. The potential is being strangled right in front of you for no reason.
That's pretty much my only fascination with Deltarune at this point is witnessing how Tobias is going to fuck it up even more.
Again, I never asked for perfection just a coherent storyline. All of the pieces are here yet Toby just goes "Naaaaaaaaaah!" it literally wouldn't have taken much to make Deltarune's story serviceable by just answering big questions every now and then as the game goes on but Toby actively avoids doing so every time instead continuously vague posting instead of giving answers to the detriment of the story. Now it's becoming too late as we're approaching the last two chapters leaving only 2 options, either A. Nothing will be answered and the players can go fuck themselves. Or B. Chapters 6 and or 7 are going to be lightning round lore dumps.
I know it's cringe and gay and I will admit it. I was interested in Deltarune's story at first. But time and time again, Toby fails to deliver. So now I guess I'm just here to watch the house burn down.
We could've had an "Okay" mystery plotline here.

Normal human beings play Deltarune for the same reason normal human beings watched The Boys.
Both started out great. Both kept the retarded political bias to a minimum. Both had great character personalities and arcs. Many subversive twists.
And then later Both got too politically one sided, Both had character butchering ad nauseum, The twists became more confusing and convoluted, mass disorganization.
The difference is The Boy’s ended. If you check multimedia it has largely been forgotten since it crashed and burned. Deltarune is still going for now.
FF4 is boring shit. Don't actually play it.
I guess it says something about the medium that any random kid can load up RPG Maker and "make FF4" but outside of a few cool setpieces - it plays everything extremely safe.
The soundtrack is good though.
I played Chapter 1 years ago and it was fine but i've kind of lost interest. However, i’ve heard it turned into quite a shitshow and since i enjoy watching trainwrecks i’m thinking about catching up. I just have one question: did Toby fall for ARG retardation? I fucking hate when i have to look up additional material to get the full story.
