We sold collard greens, as well as mustard and turnip greens, at the grocery store where I used to work, and they were almost only ever bought by older black women, along with pork neckbones which are thrown into the same pot. One lady described the process of cooking them to me, and it actually sounded pretty good, just letting meat and greens stew all day. I imagine Jamal here was channeling that concept.

The aluminum foil is supposed to prevent the plastic from melting. Of course some of it still melts into the cornstarch and the niggers eat that along with they cawnstawch.

I'm no negro culinary scientist but if you are going low enough (like 300F tops for the shittiest varieties) most types of plastics shouldn't melt. And you don't really need to bake the cornstarch just dehydrate it. They will leech and soften at lower temperatures though which is why you shouldn't cook with them. I know because fucking around with sous vide ziplock side seals start to fail at 150F ish but that's a pretty extreme example.
