Half the people in this film, including Zendaya, are in Spider-Man two weeks after this film. And that will almost certainly blow the Odyssey out of the water at the box office. It's likely going to be the largest film of the year. The Odyssey is going to struggle to break $700m, simply because they only have two weeks before Spider-Man kills its legs.
And I will admit those Spiderman movies don't intentionally try to piss people off.
The tracking range being so wide is definitely worrying considering the early tracking seemed to put it confidently above $110m. This will really depend a lot on having legs plus doing well internationally for it to make a profit.

Period of couple of centuries during which most of bronze age states in Eastern Medditerrain and Middle East declined and some of them collapsed completely. Greece was hit pretty hard , because there are no written records from this period of Greek dark ages. What emerges is Archaic greece. Which will eventually evolve into Classical Greece .

I wish Nolan would come out and tell us what the hell he's going for here. Enough with the enigmatic artiste act, just tell us this is the cheap-ass Odyssey you pictured in your head as a schoolboy.
This is one of those things that would never have occurred to me because it's so bad but is wildly plausible Nolan will do once mentioned. Look at what he did with Batman - everything he plausibly could to strip fantastic elements from it and still sell tickets. The Dark Knight opens on brightly lit days in a city that could be any modern American city, Bane has a mask because there's no escaping it but not a word of why nor any of the drugs Bane is known for. If Nolan could have plausibly got rid of the cape and bat ears, he would have. Are we even going to see the gods depicted? Have they appeared in the cast list? Or is this just going to be one person saying to another person, "we must have angered the gods" whilst the director gives a knowing wink to the audience about superstitions?
There's also that it's more obviously a performance in other ways as well. You can have a play with a backdrop of literal painted furniture and fucking mime the presence of objects or people if you want. Is it raining? Have someone backstage with a metal tray and dried peas bouncing on it. You go to the theatre willing to suspend belief in a level that people might once have done for film but which film has aggressively rejected a need for over the years.
I'm going to respectively disagree that Xena was really Woke. It had elements that Woke/DEI would capitalise on and those grew as time went on. But what Xena really was, was more pro-women. Whereas I would say even though Woke/DEI casts itself as that, is really more about being anti-man, anti-White. There's nothing inherently wrong with Xena being a strong warrior woman, especially in a fantasy world. Nor wrong with storylines about a women rejecting arranged marriages, asserting their rights or anything else in that vein. It's individualist and in favour of freedom. I'm not even against two hot women making out with each other if they'd like to. But modern Woke/DEI isn't that. It pretends to be but it's actually anti-Man. In so far as either Xena or Hercules had elements of that, it was mostly done in fun and on an equal footing.

I won't say that can't work. But Nolan or any director currently alive for that matter couldn't pull it off. The closest would be the Cohen Brothers but they already gave their take on the Odyssey. Homer's Epics have this odd thing to them, where you have the glory and the conquest but also these smaller more intimate moments. Achilles learning to set aside his rage to do right by Priam as a father not an enemy. It speaks to a beginning of concepts like honor and dignity outside of the savagery of war. Odysseus' whole story screams of some ancient metaphor for what soldiers with PTSD went through in those times. Because being lost for ten years at the behest of forces beyond your control is prime mental illness allegory. My favorite scene is the dog though.
