My local subreddit is a typical liberal echo chamber, so naturally someone decided to make an alternative so people could actually discuss serious issues in the city (you know, tent cities and black on black murder). It’s not that horrible as the mods let the chuds speak their peace, but naturally the lefties from the main sub must come and give their two cents on everything.
For context, someone posted an article about how two Somali teens carjacked someone at gunpoint and are actually getting charged (hooray!). One of the guys is fat asf and the first comment is an obvious joke about that, but as you can see Redditor brain takes over in the responder and he MUST. BRING. UP. TRUMP!!!!!
Maybe this apathypilling shit is an option when your biggest problem is black women getting bleached by nordic ICE agents, but not when your country is running out of gas and your family is already discussing how they'll buy canned food and gas tanks.
This is the exact same weasely line of argumentation that trans people and their advocates use to destroy communities. "This issue is REALLY important, therefore we must talk about it in this forum for video game discussion! Everything is political, so politics are never off-topic!", they say as they force everyone in the community to take a side, infight, and risk social suicide.
Even in wartime, life goes on for most people, so even if you think it has outsized importance, a problem merely existing doesn't mean that every single facet, second, and encounter of your life must be geared towards discussing a specific issue.
Follow that line you're proposing out far enough, and you start asserting that there can be no discussion about anything that *isn't* the problem at hand, and frankly, nobody wants to deal with that shit all the time. You'll alienate all your friends over it. There's a time and a place.

Same thing is happening in my local sub(s). The alt sub made as chud containment gets all its posts brigaded by the other sub who point out how "problematic" the alt sub is.

Mine is the same way. Recently there was a post where people were openly sharing their experiences being harassed and violated by the rampant homeless problem in our downtown. And yet, any reply or comment mentioning how it's not a financial issue, its more of a mental health issue, was mass down voted. People expressing how they can no longer go downtown out of fear of being stabbed or seeing someone shitting on the sidewalk, but nobody could say something negative about the people doing these things, or that they want them out. It's like toxic empathy or something. Someone even commented that the reason homeless are lashing out, is because, I shit you not, they don't have access to gardening. There's something seriously wrong with these fucking retards. It's like they have all the puzzle pieces put together and are unable to figure out how to put in the last piece, enabling them to see the full picture. They just want to stay confused and solution-less. They have all the information that should lead them to a rational resolution but they somehow come to the craziest summations I have to wonder if they're trolling.
