Which immediately summons the time police, who take Evil Morty to tine travel prison, which to Evil Morty's disappointment is a regular prison and not a fancy prison where you are put into stasis or have your brain extracted.
Wait what?

Isn't Evil Morty basically a God in terms of power?

Someone so hyperintelligent and cunning that he's always dozens of steps ahead and not only a giga genius but also a cyberneticlly enhanced combat expert?

And his story ends with him being arrested by the cops?

Bruh.

The general response to the episode fluxuates on the idea Evil Morty got way too cocky and arrogant combined woth the time cops being a literal plot device Rick uses to beat Evil Morty in terms having them do his dirty work.

Also the ending strobgly implies that Evil Morty will be back and this is more of a warehousing of him so no one bugs the writers to show wgat hes doing currently. And that he will either lead a jailbreak or manage to get a pardon using his brains to help the time police.

Evil Morty got resolved in the season opener.

TLDR Rick exploited Evil Morty's subconscious desire to still go on adventures with a Rick/rub it into Morty's face that he "stole" Morty's Rick (to the point Rick showed Morty his super secret unfinished time travel tech), to distract Evil Morty so Rick coukd destriy the Omega device. Then Rick fought Evil Morty to a standstill, knowing Evil Morty would reach for and finalize Rick's time travel tech into working form to freeze time and kill Rick... Which immediately summons the time police, who take Evil Morty to tine travel prison, which to Evil Morty's disappointment is a regular prison and not a fancy prison where you are put into stasis or have your brain extracted.
that was genuinely fucking awful

yes
Solar Opposites was never a thing. The hubris of that show to think it could remain relevant with Roiland's autistic mannerisms waa more amusing than the show itself.
people only watched it for the wall stuff

The time police have been established to be stronger than rick for 5+ seasons now. While I don't like how the plotline was handled because its another retarded subversion its not a plothole.

I personally didn't find it all very believable. He came from outsmarting countless of Rick's just to be left alone, to easily being outsmarted by the Rick we follow, and wanting to do adventures, again.

They tried to justify it with him getting too cocky, but while the episode was enjoyable and well animated it did feel like they took away a lot of what made him special.

...and they didn't arrest him for what he did before why exactly?
picking and choosing continuity has made this entire show such a goddamn mess

Fyi this isn't a joke, most people I've heard talk about the show just talk about the wall, barely anyone gives a fuck about the alien. The wall is an actually good show that's crudely stapled into solar opposites.

Because he didn't use time travel or time manipulation before?

Rick and Morty operates on the idea of a preset infinite multiverse, so time travel isn't considered necessary for universe hoping because you literally can not change the past. And time travel doesn't let you universe hop; you have to use dimensional transportation science.

Yea I always expected Evil Morty to meet his demise to a therapy foid who hyperanalizes him and "fixes him"

Solar Opposites (abbreviated SO get it? Special Other) is an awful show that only tries to appeal to the most common denominator normie and be the Rick Bang Theory (the normie "we're so nerdy" show for people who can't do 3rd grade math and think a talking robot is deep scifi nerdy stuff)

"The wall" plot was unique at first but it's overstayed its welcome and became dull after the first plotline got resolved.

Última edición:
I'll be honest, so far this season has been alright in a good way.

There's nothing mindblowingly incredible like pit of acid, fear hole or night family, but so far all the episodes have been 7 out of 10s, which is insane, because we haven't had a season where half the episodes aren't abject dogshit for 5 years.

Its a filler season, but considering rise of a numericons, even a filler season is an improvement.

Did they change the writers or something?

Nah some of these writers have been behind some legit stinkers in the past (and this season) and all that happened is that they finally got into the groove of things so because the show can finally be about scifi shit now.
What, it took them 9 years to learn how to write scifi?

Well "good" scifi. Some of these episodes are essentially rehashes from old ones honestly but they're way better than the crap from previous seasons. I'm just glad they stop trying to shove down Space Beth when she wasnt needed same with Summer.
What episodes are rehashes? Its been a while since I saw the old seasons but I didn't notice anything egregious.
