Izuko will never be a real superhero. He doesn't have any pathos or struggle:
* He doesn't have a personal tragedy and sacrificing his private life that Spiderman has, actually he only gains more friends for having super powers and being a hero.
* He doesn't need to face prejudice for who he is like the X-Men, actually he is now in a higher social caste with super powers.
* He doesn't need to live in a world of cardboard like Superman or watch corruption because he binds himself to laws, actually he only is rewarded whenever he uses his full strength.
* He doesn't have villains that play on his past and scars like Batman, he just does friendship no jutsu.
* He isn't a self made superhero like Iron Man, he got the powers for no real sacrifice of his own.

He is the isekai version of a superhero.
Superheroes are the jujuest goyslop capeshit entertainment so that is a backhanded compliment I guess.

Invented as slop propaganda for goys. Even the pokeymans and starwarsfags needed a kid to bully I guess.

Youjo Senki first episode was released. It's probably the most interesting isekai left due to not having any real final goal. Tanya can be as strong as she wants, still won't save her country from its own retardation. It still suffers from the main character and her squad being ridiculously OP, but at least it's funny she straight up in the "hope I won't get executed when we lose" phase.

I'm happy they still have the ugly ass art style, though they do reference the LN art in the ending scene.

To be fair superheroes nowadays are the most privileged motherfuckers out there, the X-Men aren't even heroes anymore and every new hero is just some way for artists and writers to virtual singnal because being a hero is less about saving lives and more about coming out as trans. I dont even think Peter saves in single person in the new Spiderman book he's too busy trying to get some yellow girl pussy.
My opinion is that when superheroes were based on Objectivist ideals they were good and interesting for readers of all ages. Nobody likes modern commie heroes that get the government to approve their actions and are only heroes for in universe diversity quotas.
Literally impossible for Japanese writers today.
What I'd give for an anime with an ending like Escape From LA where the main character just destroys the world to make a point. Modern anime and games bitching about issues and then cucking out on implementing changes really ruins their whole point.

What I don't get about Tomura's backstory, and this is something I see in a lot of media for some reason only God knows, is why in the fuck his dad would treat him like that while knowing the kind of power that Tomura possesses. Come on man, the kid literally disintegrates things by touching them, at least try to be nice to him if only for the purpose of self preservation.
it turns out that all for one was his dad's best friend and psyopped him into abusing tomura just so he could put decay on the kid and groom him to be a mass shooter

Oh no I agree. One of the biggest sins for the show that I have always had was that the author didn't let Izuku and Katsuki actually settle their issues properly.

Naruto is shit but Naruto and Sasuke got four fights that settled their rivalry. Izuku and Katsuki got one and a half.

Izuku was also just never allowed to be angry about shit that people did to him. He was selfless to a fault and suicidally heroic, which makes him hard to like.
Let's be completely fair here. Only two of those fights actually mattered and both happened at the exact same spot. I dont think anyone took Sasuke wanting to become Hokage seriously but it concluded their story arc well enough.

Deku and Bakugo already settled their differences after the 2nd fight, they didnt need to fight again because by that point they were actually becoming friends. For the most part, Deku and Bakugo are just regular teenage kids. Naruto and Sasuke are both mentally ill and Sasuke takes every opportunity possible to try to kill Naruto.

For all the shit Deku gets he at least kills Shigaraki in the end. Naruto is super forgiving to every villain and called Obito the coolest guy. That isnt something you say about someone who is causing millions of people from your village to die

My Hero isn't as bad as the internet says it is. It's about the same as everything else from Jump.
Don't even bother, it's "talking shit about MHA o'clock". Some regulars apparently hatewatch anime, because you can't have any positive opinion about anything that is not GiTS, Berserk or Dragon Ball - three series I find deeply unappealing, each for a different reason.

The worst fandom will always be the contrarian haters; nothing you say will ever matters to them.

Changing the subject, how is "Toumei na Yoru ni Kakeru Kimi to, Me ni Mienai Koi wo Shita" (Love Unseen Beneath the Clear Night Sky)? Aside from the stupidly long name, it looks like a nice romance story.

Urotsukidōji is a nice romance story.

Oh boo hoo I slightly criticized something that I watched for like a season and a half. Cry harder you little bitch. You're free to criticize things as well, let's hear it.
Urotsukidōji is a nice romance story.
I second this.

On a more positive note I recently watched a series called From Old Country Bumpkin To Master Swordsman at the recommendation of a friend of mine. It was okay. I enjoyed the MC a lot since he's basically just a normal dude and most of the side characters are pretty swell as well. The story is fairly bog standard where the MC is secretly a sword wielding god but doesn't really realize that he's special since he just has a solid grasp of fundamentals and not much else, and that's all he really needs in this setting, apparently. The sword fights are overall decent since there's a lack of anime bullshit and a lot of them look like actual sword fights with a theatrical flair rather than your typical anime fight where two retards just wail on each other. The supporting cast is overall good and they're actual characters rather than just archetypes. One thing that hurts the show is the romance aspect however. It's a harem bait show and basically all the women in it are hot for the MC, which is par for the course for a show like this but it really hurts this one since the rest of the show is otherwise solid and so the weak points are felt more keenly. Thankfully the romance stuff is mostly background noise but you notice it when it crops up.

It's not like MHA didn't have potential, it just switched gears from being a low stakes slice of life high school anime to trying to emulate some big comic book event that the author clearly didn't know enough about and now you have a pile with dissonant elements from each mixed with edgy shonen tropes that fails to deliver on what anyone wanted except shippers. I don't know that it's the most overrated shonen of the last 5 years (I'd give that to JJK) but I don't think people shitting on it is undeserved or unreasonable.

I actually liked MHA for a good while, I just thought the author dropped the ball with it after Overhaul, I also just don't like how the author handled a lot of the characters. It's still one of the better shonen manga of its generation.

May I ask why you dislike GitS, Berserk and Dragon Ball? I'm not offended you dislike them but I'm curious as to why
