She’s far more popular in Japan than here. Her theme music being something nerdy couples propose over. It’s strangely here where the cynical take is not uncommon. Sort of like how Japan liked loudmouth Tidus while the West did not.

I would explain it as Japs not really finding it seemly to disparage a borderline nun for luckless relationships while in the West it’s considered sophisticated to do exactly that.

We are objectively not a huge fandom. People already forgot First Soldier came and went. Though this Sebby guy seems awfully happy about this.
 
I bought remake on day 3 after my brother said it’s good.
Preordered Rebirth, if the last game i greatly enjoyed, I’ll even preorder the next one.

For the third part I only want one thing sooo bad: get rid of the fucking anime grunting and huffing in cutscenes, whenever they even move a slight bit. So fucking annoying it makes my skin crawl after a while.

I wonder how Max "95% the same as the OG" Dood will spin this as a good thing.
I'm already seeing cope from people claiming Sqeenix'll "repurpose this into an actual game" like they did with Brave Exvius and Octopath CotC, which was the same cope used years ago for EC and when Opera Omnia shut down, that fans'll "rip the game's assets and turn it into a real remake" when retards were shocked that it turned out to be - surprise, surprise - gacha slop.
And then the usual jokers repeating the same bullshit mantra like they've been doing for years and are currently doing now with BE Resonance, that this is the "1:1 remake purists wanted".
It ain't gonna' happen imo and the chances of it happening are slim to none. SE's already burned their bridges with the pay pigs, taking the games away from them only to then strip out the gambling mechanics and sell it back to them several years later at $40 - $50 a pop. How generous of them. Apparently they're planning on doing this with other gachas they've killed, to which I believe this is both them hopping it'll win back the supposed masses who may have wanted a game and not a slot machine and to recoup money they've lost, since most of the gacha model for FF, outside of Record Keeper, isn't sustanable/profitable. They pretty much said as much with this latest EoS announcement.

Plus, if EC really were to get that kind of treatment, does anyone in their right mind really believe or trust they'll do it any justice besides upresing the graphics? Will they add an over world to explore? Chocobo breeding? Minigames? Side quests? In-depth Materia mechanics? Doubt it.

The fact hamaguchi came out and said there was no chcocobo breeding teels me were gonna do the same tedious BS in each region to get a chocobo
 
Hamaguchi at this point needs to shut up and work with the PR team to generate interests in Revelations and whatnot. Shit, even Tifa reveal in SF6 got more people interested in that.

SE is in a rough spot atm since people really don't care about FF7R anymore. Ever Crisis was an "interesting" idea but it went nowhere, the First Soldier FPS got axed right away, and the people that liked FF7R integrade didn't bother with Rebirth (myself included, ngl i do like the first part, of course i don't like the story for the most part except and when you get into the Shinra building everything turns into KH shit) But it wasn't bad while in Rebirth everything that was bad in the integrade got amped to 11. Still i prefer to play Crisis Core Reunion and that shit has Genesis in it.​

I like Max most of the time, but when he goes full retard with FF7 is unbearable to watch, because when the first part dropped he was like 50/50 but after the backlash he got after some mild criticism he make with that game and Rebirth he went full shill; "I didn't feel right to play this, but it's good beacuse it gets more people who aren't fans can be more interested in it!" like wtf you mean?

SE next fiscal year relies only on XIV Evercold and part 3. If those games don't "meet" expectations (5 million copies) shit it's gonna get ugly for squeenix

We have one chocobo on the Highwind this time, but it'll have traversal gating and have to 'learn' them. 🌈s that it's not stealth minigames.

ETA: the trailer for EC's first BC chapter. At least there will be some form of BC that's not mostly lost.

I mean, if they're going to bring back Dragon Quest Tact as a tactical/strategy RPG for consoles, I'd be ok with that.
