OK, perhaps I should clarify some things.
At times, you have seen me claim that I could have made Kelly a star and at other times, claim that Kelly is painfully unfunny.

Here's what it was. Kelly was an extremely charismatic performer who could not write a joke to save her life. But if you gave her good material, she could knock it out of the park. You could give her a C+ joke and she could get a B+ audience response from it through sheer charisma but was incapable of composing even D- material herself. The mechanics of jokecraft completely went over her head. Supposedly Lucille Ball was the same way.

I won't say that Kelly could not have made it without me, only that could not have made it alone. I saw. her crush with her previous boyfriend's material plenty of times. She just need to pick one guy to be her writing partner and stick with him for 2-3 years or however long it took to get the industry's attention after which they could supply the writers. Instead, Kelly destroyed her relationship with three different mentors in less than a year.
