if you look at the hands it's very obviously a chug style figure. only MP figure with chug style hands as far as I'm aware has been that new MP hot rod that's literally just an upscaled ss86 one.

Also given the size of where the hole is and the finger articulation he's a properly elader sized figure and not a modern "leader" that's just a voyager masquerading as what once was. Meaning he's probably gonna be stupid expensive for no fucking reason.

They should retool grimlock and use the megatron head fromt he godzilla megatron to make a smaller gigastorm IMO. I was going to actually buy a used godzilla megatron head someone on ebay was selling for cheap but it got bought before I could do that and I'm not paying the prices people want for the full figure just to get the head.

Chug size, likely with a MP price. I'm interested to see if it it has some glow in the dark or UV paint on it like how they line is supposed to have. NL-01 Lio Convoy Legendary Green Lion Version is $100cad and NL-02 Menasor G2 Color Version is over $400 with taxes.

If you bought Menasor separately in Canada it would be $298.95 before taxes when it came out.

I really hate how cheap shit looks since they stopped doing clear windows for these premium crossover releases man, especially how the mysterymachine's like usually not got the blank blue window in the cartoon and instead is just hollow.

Anyways despite having heads for all the gang that mold was so fucking clearly designed with fred in mind specifically lmao. All the other heads are gonna look weird on that bulky upper torso.

Also they have titanmaster connections while seemingly having no human alt mode which makes it feel much cheaper. Also lmao at the velma and daphne heads being like hot rod and blurr-esque male headsculpts.

they use the modern headmaster/titanmaster neck joint that's been a thing for.... fuck tEN YEARS NOW WHAT IS TIME

Anyways yeah I don't think it's a headmaster but rather like what Nitro zeus did of having a head you can swap out with a headmaster but like as just the non-headmaster heads.

Was going to go unconcious, but I found out a few interesting things I feel like sharing before I do since I forgot to.

Armada nemesis prime got a restock. I can't pay nearly 100 fucking dollars for a figure without utilizing some kinda pay in 4 shit and even then it's just a voyager with 3 little guys that was originally 60 before the last minute price hike. I guess I'll just miss it like I miss everything else unless it takes forever to sell again.

In less frustrating news, some 3d printed fan made figures of various characters I'm pretty sure used to be on shapeways as UV resin ones you could order are available for cheaper as PLA figures on etsy now. I'm pretty sure they aren't gonna get any kinda mainline release since they're just some alien dudes from the g1 cartoon lmao.

Finished watching Armada (first time watching all the way through since it originally aired).
Absolutely love the 2nd half of the series when Unicron shows up.

The humans were a lot more annoying for those first few episodes, worst one is when Rad randomly goes on about "muh global warming".
Like dude I don't give a crap about the trees I want to see what happens with the Mini-Cons lol
Thankfully they're a lot more tolerable as the show goes on.
Billy and Fred are pretty much Bulk and Skull.

Starscream's death still got to me after all these years.

The JP version is apparently more solid through the whole thing from what I've heard over the years and I'm surprised I've never seen like a fan or official edit that uses the finished animation from the JP and other dubs of the thing instead of the jank US ones that used the unfinished animation in some shots.

There are a few shots where the "unfinished" stuff looked better IIRC like some of the unicron parts but ti's been a while since I went over all the side-by sides of the different releases of Armada.

Found out someone's 3d printing minicon emblems and kinda tempted to get some actually.

There's ones that can be held by figures (that have open hands/jointed fingers) and ones that are larger desk display size.
I think I got some from this seller a few years ago but they were smaller and unpainted single color PLA that came in like a set of 6 or 9 or something that I never got around to trying to paint.

EDIT: Should probably mention both the large and small ones have different color options based on various scenes from the anime.




Kinda loosely considering getting some of the larger ones to use as neat figure stands sometime. This guy's also selling some neat weapons/addons for figures as either physical prints or digital downloads you can print for yourself if you got a printer.

Part of why sunstorm being there makes it all the more odd. Also the siege 3 pack was more g1 accurate than these ss86 molds in the fact they were all neon colored and all a single color save for the head. Really bold choice that I think paid off.

This isn't even going into how people used to just call "nova storm" sunstorm before the siege 3 pack.
