Additional khantext to add to the other replies: DS1, DS3, and Elden Ring all have an online/offline toggle on the main menu, but DS2 specifically does not. So it's possible that Phil doesn't realize Nvm it just occurred to me that I almost wrote an entire post that was operating under the assumption that DSP would remember something about games he's played before

Ds2 has the most comprehensive multi-player system of any of the souls games and was built with a lot of summoning/invading in mind.

You can turn off invasions for a while by burning a human effigy at a bonfire though.

Does anyone know why this only happens to Phil's chat? I've watched a few 20-30K+ livestreams on youtube (EVO last week for example) and not once has the chat frozen, but Phil with his 150 viewers is getting crashed multiple times a day.

As it's Phil the safe assumption would be that it's almost certainly because he's doing something retarded this is happening so frequently.

This is a legendary playthrough, possibly one of the best TIHYDP KINO segments.

Every one of philip's DS runs is magical, his retardation after 10+ yrs of DS experience is just... perfect. But the chat freezing and invasions really elevate this run past the previous DS2 struggle-fests.
