EU Germany ends Phone Sick Notes from Day 1 "to cut absences" - German man, are you sick? Do you wanna call off work? Well TOO BAD, get your ass up and get a fucking certificate, LOSER!

Germany's government agreed to scrap phone-based sick notes for short illnesses, mandating in-person or video doctor's certificates from the first day of absence—up from day four. This follows seven hours of negotiations between CDU, CSU, and SPD, amid 2023 averages of 15.1 sick days per worker and 23.3 days reported in 2025 by some insurers. Business groups applaud the move to boost productivity, while doctors and unions fear clinic overloads and a culture of mistrust. The reform fits a larger package with tax relief and labor changes, heading to parliament without a set start date.

Germany's Chancellor Merz: "We can no longer accept the extraordinarily high levels of sick leave in our companies. We are abolishing sick leave by telephone and introducing the requirement to submit a medical certificate from the very first day of illness. We know this is a tough decision. But we can no longer afford this competitive disadvantage caused by prolonged absences from work."

I was gonna say how many germans are calling out sick to work when they're not. I was gonna say this is foreigners.

But then I remembered. Most migrants are probably on the government dole. So they're not working. At all.

Chancellor Merz is a nigger faggot. Who deserves to be bullied and given swirlies.

If Michael Jordan can have one of the greatest games of his career while hung over then the least you can do is show up.

And to top it off, in spite of all of these problems being setup by these retard governments as you pointed out, there's also the fact that this will end up being normalized. The EU will adopt this with open arms and tears in their eyes, and companies are gonna smile and salivate at the lack of absences on continental scales.

When you think this through, this is deadass ingenious really, you:
> Introduce an invasive demographic
> Give said demographic state benefits, pensions, free welfare.. yada yada yada
> They refuse to work
> Use their absence as a way to limit the absence of those who already work (less worker rights? more MONEY! 🤑 )
> (repeat, this time with whatever bullshit you wanna make illegal)

Literally the most jewed and crystal clear example of creating a disease, and then selling a cure (that benefits yourself that is).

This has nothing to do with migrants(They built our country). Us Germans are just very very very lazy especially the white ones

What a ridiculous waste of time and resources. Now people have to go to the doctor for a case of sniffles that will resolve itself in a day or two with no treatment whatsoever. Or what about a bad hangover or a wicked sunburn? Now you have to go to the doctor for that too, or go to work and be absolutely useless all day. Preposterous.

I don't think Germany's recent economic woes have anything at all to do with people being able to call in sick. They just don't want to address the real problems being their worthless, state subsidised underclass of unemployed rape apes and retarded green agenda legislation.

Productivity across the western world has increased exponentially, yet pay has increased at a glacial pace comparatively (because it was legally required to in many cases) and conditions, benefits and the like have dropped horrendously. This situation only gets worse each year.

And they wonder why people don't wanna work anymore. If they even find a job in the first place if the German job "market" is anywhere near the Kafkaesque nightmare that the American one is.

Call me a commie or whatever I don't give a shit. The corpo class are fucking destructive parasites whose short-term avarice & petty tyrannical egotism will destroy everything. You don't actually have to run a business this way for it to be successful I know from experience.

And imagine that in the context of a new Coronavirus, or maybe a little Hantavirus? The possibility of spreading shit to people? Yay how fun!

Ahh. The famous sick leave the euros brag about.

>well we have free Healthcare
>it's a suicide booth
>we also have sick leave
>can't actually use it

Phone-based sick notes didn't exist in Germany before Covid and were only introduced because of it. Unlike in the US german workers are getting fully paid for 6+ weeks when they are sick & can't go to work. However virtual sick notes via telemedicine are still possible, enshired in the law and the plan is to make them easier available.

Also sick notes from day 1 aren't anything new. The employer has the choice if they want a sick note from day 1 or not. Some demand it, others don't.

The free market has shown that a flexible PTO system is the most optimal. You get a few weeks of paid time off for whatever reason you want, sick or vacation. Anything beyond that is unpaid. You can have a provision where someone can take unpaid medical leave and guarantee their job back when they are better. I don’t know why the Germans had to make things so complicated.

How likely is this?
Are you gonna fire everyone that has the shits but doesn't need medical attention?
Stop being faggots, let me sit at home and eat soup and drink 7-Up and I'll see you tomorrow. Faggot.

Then what's the point of this song and dance? The way it's worded (abolish) and how corpos are reacting is making it sound like it's being mandated for every employer to require day one doctor notes.

The politicians making these decisions are the same scumbags that advocated shutting down the entire global economy for two and a half years over what amounted to a strong flu and would basically call you a terrorist for suggesting it was a stupid idea

I get 9 sick days a year plus I accrue a month of vacation time over the year (about 20 days of actual vacation time), which I use however I want. No questions asked. Sometimes, I just don't feel like working, put in a day off, and sleep in.

Especially when there's generous carry-over involved. Starting the year with a couple weeks of PTO is nice with no accruing limit. Our boss encourages us to use our PTO whenever we need/want to with no reason needed. Only condition is first come first serve for a specific day off.

Over here I can save PTO and just get a thirteenth month of pay.
