💼 Careercow Anthony Cumia - A once successful radio host crashes and burns, turning on all his fans and the drama around it

For some reason I'm being served lots of videos of Belgian Malinois being absolute maniacs, and it made me think about Antknee's ill-advised choice of dog breed.

That thing must be losing its mind living with such a sedentary geriatric. Am I remembering correctly that back in the day Nana couldn't be arsed to walk to his own car and had stupid Club Soda Kenny or Master Po drive it around to the building exit for him?https://www.tiktok.com/video/7465769639251987758
funny you say

dawgie didn't believe the blueberry wasnt a "standalone fruit", neither is his owner

Gavin's kid totaled some older model BMW a month or two ago by crashing into a Boar's Head delivery box truck so he wanted to get his kids a newer car. Obviously he's a cheap fuck so he didn't want to buy brand new.
His idea was to get his kids a big SUV so they'd be high up and in his boomer mind, safer.
He went onto Carvana and impulsively bought Ford Bronco.

What he actually bought was a fucking Bronco Sport. My ribs will never recover.

What he thought he bought:

He can't even blame booze, he's been sober since his anklet was put on. He's just a fucking retard lol

They were never fired, which many people like to get mixed up because "Oh, Opie & Anthony had two people have sex at St. Patrick's *allegedly to this day, and got fired) which was not the case even 24 to 25 years later. Infinity Broadcasting paid the remainder of their contract because they were not allowed to go to another radio network like Clear Channel at the time until their contract had expired in July '04.
The Infinity situation is a little weird because it comes across as a bit of a grey area. You can technically say it wasn't exactly a firing, but it had all the trademarks of one. The only real difference is that they still were getting paid by the same company.

Infinity probably would have out right fired them had it not been for the threat of them going to a rival network. That and I personally believe they also wanted to curb ONAs momentum a little bit so that ONA would be in a worse negotiating situation when their contract expired. Whether they were negotiating with Infinity or another network.

I guess you can say it technically wasn't a "firing" per se but it definitely was structured to be one.

I also believe that if they had gone to Clear Channel, Infinity would have been more worried about them competing with Hoo-Hoo for the morning slot. The Infinity higher-ups would rather have let $30,000,000 burn in the street, figuratively, than let O&A go somewhere else and have competition.

Then again, they weren't really fired cause they were brought back to terrestrial to Howie's home station at 92.3 (via the stupid Free FM deal).

They were let go when WXRK's format flipped from Rock to Contemporary Pop in March 2009.

The people in the Howard Stern camp made the call to keep O&A under contract. They even offered them a buyout that would allow them to work for another company as long as they never mentioned Howard Stern or his show on the air ever again. A permanent gag order from 'Radio Edit' himself. Opie and Anthony turned it down because it would mean being forbidden from ever mentioning Stern even if they signed with a satellite or internet company.

When XM merged with Sirius they were given orders to never mention Stern on air. And were told that they would be fired if they used any audio from Howard 100 or Howard 101. This was why there was never a Jocktober attack on Stern's awful radio show. And they were told to shut down any references to Artie Lange being fired which was why that was barely covered as a topic. The people who worked with Stern like Bubba or Breuer signed a bunch of NDAs that protected Stern even if they left Sirius.

This was after Mel Karmazin was gone from CBS. As he also hated Opie and Anthony. The guy who recruited Mel Karmazin to the board of Sirius and also drafted Howard Stern's contract was named Leon Black. He is mostly well known for several high profile rape accusations, including one from an underage retarded girl, and his ties to Jeffrey Epstein. Stern's first Sirius contract was likely partially written by Epstein which is why it was a mess and resulted in a bunch of failed lawsuits. The people behind Stern and his career were all big media pedophiles.

Stern is so bad that KF doesn't even have a real thread about him. One thing Anthony is right about, and him and Opie still 100% agree on, is that Howard Stern is the worst niggerkike hymiefaggot fucknugget in show business. I hope his death brings Opie & Anthony back together.

While it's funny that Gavin doesn't know shit about cars, the Sport has scored higher in safety and reliability for more years in a row than than the big Bronco.

Correct me on this but it was heavily implied by Opie that Infinity would had let them off their contract to work for some other network but would had to pay upwards of six figure fines for any mention not just Howard & his staff, but any current or former Infinity Broadcasting/CBS Radio employee.

When Howie retires in 2 years, the rest of sirius's dwindling subscriber base will go with him.

The official language on the contract was "Any CBS or associated radio employees". But it was understood that it was just to protect Stern. So that Stern's name would not be in the contract and he could deny on air "CBS wanted it not me....I'm not afraid of Opie and Anthony". Even though he would piss himself at Opie's name being mentioned or ban O&A staff from being in the Sirius hallways when he was leaving or arriving.

They have over 30 million active subs (some reports say over 35 million). You need to be able to hit 100K live listeners to get the top ad rate contracts on Sirius. And Stern's channel doesn't currently qualify. So if you purchase ad time on Stern's channels it's at a lower rate than the top Sirius stations that aren't commercial free. Meaning Stern isn't pulling 100K live listeners anymore. I doubt his retiring affects the company at all.

Yeah, Stern really is a draw anymore. He hasn't been a draw for years. Sirius will do just fine when he retires. I've said this a lot before, but what Sirius currently is what satellite radio was probably always going to end up as.

It will be very weird though when he does retire. An entire era of radio is now over, and this whole satellite radio experiment ended up not being what everyone hoped it would be.

I find the cake stumping incident somewhat suspicious. Anthony and Jimmy's heightened concern over a homeless man's cake getting knocked over seems inconsistent, especially given their previous on-air conduct, which has included actions that were more inappropriate. It seems like a targeted focus on Greg Opie. Considering that Anthony and Jimmy have admitted to using hard drugs during the show, could it be possible that Greg Opie inadvertently disrupted a drug smuggling operation in New York? Smuggling drugs through cakes and other snacks like ice cream is a common method for transporting contraband in major cities.

I’m not even sure what the point of satellite radio is now LTE and 5G are so widespread, with much higher data throughput on every freeway in America, at this point, so even truckers don’t need it. The whole thing is built on providing centralized content, where you have a few hosts with a massive listener base, but today content is democratized everyone is in tiny spaces. Podcasts and streamers have taken over the business is obsolete. Even if they had managed to make tiny receivers and launched in 1980 they would be in much the same spot today.
