Ukraine War, Day 1,587: Putin Acknowledges Gasoline Shortages Across Russia

UPDATE 0714 GMT:

Air defenses downed 82 of 108 drones launched by Russia overnight, but 25 hit 11 locations.

ORIGINAL ENTRY: Vladimir Putin has acknowledged gasoline shortages and queues for petrol across Russia, amid Ukrainian strikes on refineries and other facilities.

“Unfortunately, there are still lines at gas stations, and the right grade of gasoline isn’t always available. And, of course, we understand the challenges faced by agricultural producers and farms during the summer,” Putin said at a meeting with leaders of the Russian energy industry.

Ukraine’s strikes in June have knocked out the Moscow Oil Refinery, which supplies 40% of the gasoline near and in the Russian capital, for six months. They have threatened to cut off Russian-occupied Crimea, with all fuel sales banned except for the military and essential services.

Putin said Russia is drawing on its fuel reserves, with the amount dropping by about 4% compared to 2025.

“Furthermore, in the interests of domestic consumers, a complete ban on the export of gasoline and jet fuel has been temporarily imposed. The need for a complete ban on diesel fuel exports is also being considered,” he explained.

In an interview after the meeting, Putin said, “We are now observing a certain deficit, but not critical….There are several issues here that we must address.”

Implicitly referring to the Ukrainian strikes, he said Russia must increase production of “the most demanded munitions” and improve them: “The issue is the speed of their production and delivery to the troops or to cover objects of critical infrastructure.”

He said Ukrainian strikes on infrastructure were also part of an “information operation” to “create uncertainty in us, or even better, to cause a split in Russian society” and force a halt to the troop offensive “at least for a short time”.

He insisted, “We will not give them such a chance. Moreover, and this is important, all these terrorist attacks have no effect on the situation at the front.”

You're still here? Isn't there some refugee's jockstrap you should be washing?
No, there isn't. We will deport or kill every foreign invader and colonizer. The niggers, the arabs and the Russians invading Ukraine. Its all the same thing, and you are the one washing their ballstraps like an obedient house servant.

Mmh, interesting.

Please just kill yourself. You have drunk too much cool-aid. You are a liability to free thinking individuals.
If you don't simp for Putin and his retarded decisions you're not a free thinker. Simple as that.

Putin chose to extend the war this far and now he's being raped by Ukrainian drones blowing up his refineries. Russia is facing a dire gasoline shortage and has to import gasoline by sea thanks to this.

Completely stupid decision not to agree to a peace deal and annex the donbas.

Not simping for Putin you dumb faggot.

But if you change the word Putin for Israel in your screed, it turns into an accurate portrayal of your stance.

Also, holy fuck, you realize it was Ukraine who pulled pulled out of negotiations right? You really will just say anything.

You're freaking out about people criticizing Putin then claiming not to simp for him. I can't contact my elderly family in Russia thanks to that stupid faggot banning Whatsapp and telegram.

Nice strawman nigger.

Not suporting a forever war in Ukraine =/= supporting Putin but I don't expect an idiot like you to comprehend that, or admit it if you do.

Nigger you freaked out over this guy criticizing Putin
Man, its almost like Putin shouldn't have gone out of his way to try and make an enemy of the West or something. Play stupid games...
Then claim that you don't support Putin

20 minutes adventure in Ukraine was a calculated risk but Russian corruption makes it really hard to be good at math. Europe being a bunch of pussies and Biden being a pants shitting senile who all but gave the thumbs up to go through with it to Putin were well defined variables in the equation but every other variable was embellished for smekalka.

No, because Russia has accomplished absolutely nothing since 1991 other than turning into a major-league shithole whose military is now proven to be a global laughingstock.
this has been really brutal yeah
five years ago russians were like "we could be in warsaw in a week, berlin in two, paris in three and lisbon in 4! don't poke the bear!"
but now the people that were boasting about how they could take all europe in a month have shown the world that they can't even take kharkiv, a city that's less than 50 miles from russias border, in 4 fucking years. it's an absolute disaster for russias reputation as a military power.

If the West hadn't been supplying Ukraine with munitions and intel the war would have been over in a week.

War has changed. Drones rule the sky. I forget if it was the British or the French but one of them did a training exercise with some Ukrainian drone operators and their unit got absolutely smashed.

It's silly to think a major war with Russia will ever break out simply because both the West and Russia have nukes. The most we are going to see is these proxy wars.

People beating their chests about how bad Russia is ignore how the US failed in both Afganistan and Iraq. It wouldn't surprise me at all if the real reason we left those countries was because of the risk of drone warfare. Hell we didn't even set foot in Iran besides some special ops and one of those missions got FUBAR'd.

Venezuela was a snatch and grab. The same reason Russia is struggling in Ukraine is why we didn't stick around. Large armies are not equipped for the current state of warfare.

this is the most retarded opinion I've heard all day. Neither the Taliban or any Iraqi group had the capability to field drones. ISIS was the first to do so in the early to mid 10s after the Americans withdrew in 2011. Drone warfare simply wasn't a factor.

The Americans also weren't losing tens of thousands a month in Iraq/Afghanistan.

The same reason Russia is struggling in Ukraine is why we didn't stick around. Large armies are not equipped for the current state of warfare.
They're stuck because it's a trench warfare situation with neither side having air superiority and the battlefield being riddled with active electronic warfare. In cases where a standing army with control of the air has faced drone operators, they quickly learned how to triangulate the locations of drone operators and kill them with an airstrike.
