Rowling Derangement Syndrome - "TERF/Woke Author Bad!!1"

I recently learned that Alan Moore once did a Harry Potter parody in his League of Extarordinary Gentlemen comic. It was about Harry actually being the antichrist and all his school adventures were a deliberate ploy by Voldemort to distract him from it. The storyline was heavily panned because despite being a Harry Potter parody, it revealed that Moore has no idea what Harry Potter is actually about and just wanted to be edgy.
Yeah, LoEG got progressively more crap as it went on. The only modern pop culture Moore is familiar with is stuff by Armando Ianucci and Iain Sinclair, because they’re friends.

My problem with the Harry Potter bit was that it has Voldemort as a reincarnation of Aleister Crowley, which he really isn’t. I did like the bit where Harry does a school shooting, though.
You were too quick for me. All I have to add is evidence that even Reddit is sick of troons.

"I know better and I can do no wrong" attitude, plus the sheer disregard (and even bringing down) newer properties because they commit the crime of not being made by him or his ilk.
Terry Gilliam is also really bad for this. I think you're right in that it's his generation's style of refusal to admit you've made a mistake, no matter how small.
Dan Aykroyd blaming every poor box office showing on "women wouldn't let their boyfriends go see it" is like that too.

I remember reading the very comic and can provide some context.

Moore was, to nutshell it, a complete boomer who felt that what he grew up with was totally the best stuff and was not a fan of what modern British adventure fiction, especially boys' fiction, had become. His Potter parody was basically a mean-spirited diss at it. It's worth noting he also had issues with James Bond per an earlier unflattering incorporation of the character into the last couple volumes, Moore clearly preferred the masculine-yet-gentlemanly adventurers of the imperial era like Quatermain and Bulldog Drummond.

You're right on it being panned, as the dude admitted he didn't bother with most modern media and fiction of the time - but for sake of honesty this was just before Woke became a thing in society and so in this case the dude was less a SJW-type but more just being curmudgeonly as hell.
He's pretty out of touch even today. The revived version of the acclaimed French comics magazine Metal Hurlant (the original of which inspired Heavy Metal magazine which reprinted their work in translation in its early years) did an interview with him in 2020, which got reprinted in issue #1 of an English language version of the same magazine last year. The French interviewer seemed to be an anti-woke left winger and asked Moore about wokeism and I think mentioned Comicsgate. Moore had zero or near zero knowledge of the existence of wokeism and then went into some long diatribe about the religious right's censorious nature. He seems to be trapped in that era and views the world through that lens. It's funny too, since I seem to recall him clashing with the wokesters sometime around Gamergate over his continued use of sexual assault in his plots, to which he told them to fuck off.

And in regard to the Harry Potter parody, wasn't he parodying a bunch of stuff in League, not just Potter and Bond? It was him trying to parody Marvel with the "Marvelous Douche" that led to his second split with DC, wasn't it?

JK Rowling is one of the very few celebrities that each time she's in the news, I like her more. As a little chud, I've read the Harry Potter books. I liked it. Later on I've watched the Harry Poter movies. I liked it. Now JK Rowling is just a multi-millionaire with a hobby of making the troons seethe and dilate by simply saying obvious stuff like "men are not women". I like it.

How is funding a group to take an important matter to court and have judges decide on how the law should be interpreted the same as "using money to change the law"? They have to phrase it in the most retarded ways as if she paid everyone off to rule in her favor, but there is zero proof of that.
And she can fund as many women who got into legal trouble about tranny nonsense as she wants, that does not change any laws either.

All the way back then.

If you’re in London, Bristol, Manchester or other major BBC locations, be prepared for a level of seething that will be measured on the Richter scale

God, I love this woman. Even though I feel like I'd probably disagree with her on most other issues.

Ver archivo adjunto 9217109Honest, kinda hard not to like the late Prince Philip.
Philip was badass. His Royal Navy service during WWII was pretty impressive.

King Charles is actively befriending muslims and inviting them into England but social media idiots are going to waste their energy ree-ing about JK Rowling and Camilla?
You expected differently?
