from my extremely cursory legal research, it seems to me that the Trump admin approached this from entirely the wrong angle. I'm sure this whole thing has already been stated in this exact thread, but United States v. Wong Kim Ark litigated essentially this exact issue. although the dissent is, of course, touching on the core of the issue we're facing today:

Considering the circumstances surrounding the framing of the constitution, I submit that it is unreasonable to conclude that 'naturalborn citizen' applied to everybody born within the geographical tract known as the United States, irrespective of circumstances; and that the children of foreigners, happening to be born to them while passing through the country, whether of royal parentage or not, or whether of the Mongolian, Malay, or other race, were eligible to the presidency, while children of our citizens, born abroad, were not.

and from a subsequent lecture from one of the dissenting justices:

We have for many years had the policy—I am now giving you the argument on one side—we have had the policy of excluding the Chinese from this country absolutely, except certain classes, and the power of the government to do that no one disputes now or can dispute.

and another one that's a bit more on the nose:

although the dissent's argument was largely based on the fact that the Chinese of the time were not allowed under Chinese law to disavow the Emperor under penalty of death - meaning they could never become naturalized citizens, as they will always remain subject to Chinese law no matter how long they live here - instead of any particular argument about the ability of the Chinese to assimilate into American society. either way, that case essentially decided the birthright citizenship issue over 100 years ago. so the idea of assailing this issue with a legal argument is totally bankrupt; it has already been decided by the powers of this land, before our birth, that America may be used as a refuge by foreigners for any reason. what is needed - which, I believe, does have a nontrivial amount of ground floor support - is an actual redefinition of America's identity as a nation. it is obvious that the founders did not intend this country to become a safe house for every brownoid who can make it past the border. the founders were English and valued English institutions, a fact that the legal scholars of old were well aware of. therefore the country's very foundation is built on what were then English values, and immigrants to this country cannot reasonably be expected to naturalize if their worldview is not compatible with those values. this is the argument we're trying to make, but when the opposing side says it conflicts with what were up to this point considered American values, they're not wrong. however, that doesn't mean the argument is invalid; it simply means that the definition of "American values" needs to be changed. the Fourteenth Amendment should not serve as a universal circumvention to all existing immigration law. this is plainly obvious.

You see these people as house-cleaners and construction workers rather than the participants in organized crime they actually are. None of this happens without a large network getting rich off it. By not realizing that and dismissing them as blue collar nobodies you have fallen for the trap. You don't even have to take some random guy on Kiwi Farms as proof just try to become """friends""" with any of them and see how many are dealing drugs or boosting things or directly connected to a bunch of murderers who also steal or deal. It's all of them. This is their culture and it dominates where they come from and they do it when they sneak over. If this country actually worked there would be racial policy to deport every South American or just execute them.

Idk why people sperg out about mormons. Utah is the one desert state that actually got turned into something good/wealthy, Arizona/NM/Nevada are fuckin shitholes with indians drinking themselves to death on reservations. Obviously theres the salt lake which helps alot but still - they're a net positive for the US, and not by a minor amount.
