This is something I try to explain to Democrat friends of mine who don't have TDS and actually want to understand the appeal of Trump: GOP voters had slim pickings this entire century. GW was more of a "we don't want Al Gore" candidate. McCain had a lot of appeal, especially with Sarah Palin, but she was absolutely trashed by liberal media (which was terrified of polls showing Midwestern moms loved her). So much for feminism and the Sisterhood. All the criticisms of McCain came down to him being old and frail. To give credit where it is due, Obama simply had a better campaign in 2008 and there was a lot of GOP fatigue due to the Iraq War. No one liked Romney in 2012 and Jeb was pathetic. Trump was the first GOP candidate who understood that the kind of "broad appeal" campaign of the 20th century no longer works in the US. Al Gore, Clinton, Obama, Biden, and Harris were all squarely partisan and framed their campaigns as "our way is the right way."
The greatest gift progressives gave us in the last 5 years was giving the niggers an open forum to speak as well as police bodycams.
