As well as humans generally procreating more when there seems to be a "favorable environment for growth" rather than "flip a coin; if it lands tails, you're SOL on getting a house for the forseeable future."
Now I ain't knocking it on those who marry early and get a kid, good for them (if they stay together). But I see this kinda "less babies means the death of the west!!" as a bit strange, especially when 2 things are happening:
1) the global decline in birthrates in general. Even places like India are going below replacement; they just have a giant population to fall back on for now.
2) the traditional "generational transfer of wealth" doesn't seem to be happening, with the boomers living longer than ever and still engaging in their bullshit. How do you expect people to get more ready to bring in kids if they don't feel stable enough for that?
At that point, random sex to cause more accidental babies would be a better way of increasing the birth rate, though you'd have to change the way the society works to make the resultant bastards not want to burn it all down in 20 years.
