To be fair every Democrat does that. Every time they come out with new tricks to ban guns in the States they control it has been leading to more liberty for gun ownership.
Nobody has ever decided to crack their skulls over the sanctuary bullshit and other #defiance shit they all do. Trump is doing something (not enough) by pressuring them via gubment funding.

Sorry I'm coming into all of this very late but you're calling that a hanging offense or whatever and fine, sure, is that what you think should have happened all the times liberals and/or Puerto Ricans did worse in the Capitol? We didn't even give the death penalty to the guys who shot five sitting U.S. Representatives on the floor of Congress in 1954. Jimmy Carter commuted their sentences and let them go back home to Puerto Rico as free men. In 1983, communist activists bombed the Capitol. Bill Clinton later commuted their sentences. No one was ever arrested or charged when the Weather Underground set off a bomb under the U.S. Senate floor in 1971.

So please spare me the histrionics about the sanctity of the Capitol and how it's treason to violate it. The grand tradition of "if it's my guys, I'm letting them off" was started by the Democrats. The first time a Republican operates out of the same playbook, it's shocking, inconceivable.

Guy's kid showed up, cops beating the shit out of his dad while his house burnt down, he got pissed, protecting his dad he jumped in and the cops fucked him up as well.

Long way around of pointing out people might have some valid issues with police and it's completely understandable if you are distrustful or even outright hostile to them. A bit of nuance exists in this stuff, Personally I hate cops because of who and what I was in my 20s and 30s, I was operating in a.. let's say outside the bounds of legality for a decade and a half. It's valid to call me a scumbag piece of shit, I was; but this guy and his son, seems to me like they'd have reasons.

I'll take being called a scumbag, but all to many people tend to side with agents of the state and act shocked when they aren't there to protect you, they are there for the sole reason of fucking you up.

That sums US police up for decades. In the 1960's and on it was obvious that the Law was there to protect the criminals and not the victims.

The boomercon's instinct to defend cops is on par with their instinct to defend health insurance companies. They see the police as Andy Taylor and not as Barney Fife minus the incompetence. They will stand by cops who are the heavies for crooked public officials and excuse their actions if they are "physically assaulted" (see the boomercons who threw J6ers under the bus).

"Sanctuary" policies are mostly posturing for their fat spinster base. All they can actually do is just not direct municipal law enforcement to assist ICE and make the feds do it themselves. It's irritating, but that's how federalism works. Local law enforcement is not an arm of federal law enforcement, and the feds can't just take state resources. The moment they cross the line by actually interfering with ICE in a material way, they can and do go to jail.
