The group is led by Ward Rackley, an employee at a local video store (Red Carpet Video). The book that they get rituals and beliefs from is called The Forest of Magick, and their meetings are held at Ward's mother's house in the basement. Their rituals are held in the woods near the Tom Landry sports fields.

I feel like Mel is a caregiver of sorts and enjoys babying him. He also lets her prattle on for hours and hours about nothing in particular and I guess that makes her feel like someone is really listening to her rather than tolerating her.

I think he’s more annoyed of her than she is of him, but there is nothing he can do about it which likely makes him resent her even more. He’s at the devalue stage of the narcissistic cycle with her, but can’t discard and that has got to be making him seethe. That’s why he lashes out from time to time about what is currently annoying him; her.

Frankly, I’m surprised it has lasted this long, but I think he would have ditched a while ago if he wasn’t in such bad shape. He really is wasting away and going out with a whimper. A few people have pointed out that perhaps her parents are just happy someone is watching over their adult child and keeping her busy. I think that’s true. Her parents won’t kick him out because they need a babysitter. He won’t leave because his body is broken and he has nowhere to go.

I’d like to enter “death by multi-organ failure” due to alcoholism and malnutrition if it’s not already on the leaderboard. I think he will eventually die slowly in a hospice when Mel can’t or is no longer willing to carry his useless ass through life.

I may be mistaken, but didn't one of the BPDs (Sam?) actually say that Mel's folks engaged him as a minder when he went to spend several weeks there last summer? Supposedly the others in the house are her brother's family. At the time, he mentioned in one of his videos that he was trying not to cramp their style.

Styx had his phone taken as evidence in one of his cases; he neglected to get a replacement SIM, and his number presumably went back into the carrier pool. He's been using old persistent cookie files to regain access to his YouTube account, backup codes, or relying on his laptop as a familiar device to bypass 2FA. It's possible his cookie files have fully expired and cannot be renewed by continuing to use YT on his browser, his backup codes are for a different reset, or that his laptop is no longer a familiar device for whatever reason. His efforts should be put into getting his old phone number back, but he may be too paranoid to make that happen.
