NIKKE: Goddess of Victory - This NIKKE Kiwi Farms thread (and also, Doro memes) is... EEEEEEEEEntertainment!!!

How advanced was humanity during the first rupture war? It seems like they were modern day when the war started, but got into insane 40K esque Dark Age of the Imperium shit with the original Nikkes being insanely OP, only to eventually drop back into what looks like modern day stagnation (which does make sense considering they pretty much gave up on the surface when the game starts).
I can tell you one thing though, Nikke makes me really want to try omurice and I might try to make it myself soon.
As someone who had one in Japan, it's just a standard omelet on rice with either tomato or meat sauce on top, at best slightly fluffier texture to the egg, but kinda disappears with the rice.

With that said, Missilis is looking real thin on contributions right now. Elysion got the big warships like Admire and Wings of Victory in their pocket. Fuck does Missilis even have, in terms of visible contribution? (MMR doesn't count, nor does DEEP, I reckon.)
Tbf, it's actually a plot point. Though overspec Matis seem to actually be Pilgrim level, so third power level in the arc after Counters and those duo government Nikkes.

In terms of strength the Matis squad are incredibly strong. Anis and Neon both say that they seem near equals to them, which is incredible at this point.
Also M.M.R. and all the entails with them.

They had a space elevator that can process resources. The fuck they needed that for?

Finished Goddess Fall. Holy shit that was brutal. Think I'll just finish all the content there is release wise before continuing further in the main story. Too many plot elements are converging now and it makes the lore and characters less easy to follow on.

Goddess Fall itself felt like an EOS event they had in store and could finally cash in on.

At least in Asian media, space elevators are on the level of "we could probably make it in a decade if we put our mind to it". So it's bordering on scifi.

That said I didn't get deep enough into the background memos, but humanity still seemed to use mainly physical ammo back then.

In hindsight, it really is fitting that Tetra, le meme entertainment company to be the one that builds bizarre and flashy weapons like GIANT FUCKING MECHS and particle lasers powered by suffering idols. What next? Giant kaijus? Actually nevermind, Mustang probably already has plans for that.
Mustang is going to create masks that turn you into Godzilla like a certain series.

IIRC during that time period they started to introduce more sci-fi stuff but primarily relies on physical gunpowder boolet firearms.

As far as we know, The MP nikkes doesn't change much between the first humanity war up to present time and Goddess Squad still primarily uses physical ammos (Red Hood bullpup sniper rifle, Smol White's decked out assault rifle, for example) with the unknown being Dorothy, since im not sure if her "optical" weapon is there during the war or something she made post Red:Ash/Overzone.

Cindy and the Grimms model (Cindy, Siren, Hansel/Gretel, Red Shoes) were the ones that started to use scifi shit and its considered as the "most advanced" the humanity tech has gotten at the time. It's why their stuff/weapons are so borderline different compared to the rest of the folks at that era (Cindy multi homing laser thingies, Siren's bubbles, Hansel/Gretel twin-powered cannon thingie) and when it falls into rapture's hand (THANKS, RED BITCH), at that point the humanity started losing.

I believe that after the losses and humanity's exile to the Ark, the big 3 corpos started to essentially dabble into the scifis with Missilis being the one that pioneered/prioritizing it, which is helped by them having MMR and access to the past stuff they could reverse engineer or whatever. It's why that at the present, Missilis is the one that seemingly has more of the fancy scifi stuff (fictional weapons and/or actual energy weapons like Laplace's gun or Maxwell's railgun) while Elysion focuses more on practicality/"if it aint broke why change it" and Tetra doesn't care unless it further the entertainment interest.

I'm probably theorycfafting, but it makes sense with nikkephobia and Enikk dealing with Ruptures for humanity to stay underground, to gimp all Nikke models for decades. Why risk another disaster with a strong heretic?

Enikk herself is weird. I was sure it would be revealed she was the Queen in disguise. Justifying Red Hood telling Rapi to destroy the arc.

gimp all Nikke models for decades.
I don't think its less of forced gimp and more like the possibility that they have to research/reverse engineer stuff and the change of tactics overtime.

Enikk probably believed that it would be very risky if they try to make advanced nikkes for surface reclamation attempts only for it to be taken over by raptures if they got destroyed in combat and the tech wasn't retrieved/destroyed. And with the tactics (at least during the 2nd surface reclamation war) went for quantity over quality, the need for advancement is gimped for quicker productivity, before it stagnated due to the failure of the reclamation.

Maybe after that the corpo decided to try making advanced nikkes but beyond Missiles, never really go much in term of tech and instead relying on combat/long term experience, something that Tetra and Elysion can easily do during the time before the present.

Also the Ark has a resource shortage. They have (had lol) infinite energy, but are short on raw resources.

Cant mine for shit if you cant walk outside without being jumped by giant metal spiders.

So it's not cost effective to make multiple Laplace tier nikkes if you can just pump out hundreds of brain in jar cyborg girls with basic training capabilities.

You say that, the story says that, and then Mustang goes and builds three giant combining mechs just because he can. Not to mention Elysion built a giant battleship when the Ark is underground and doesn't have a coastline.

NIKKE's "great plot" positive immediately disappears when you start looking deeper into the story and how much suspension of disbelief you can stomach before it all collapses down. Way too many inconsistencies and stupid contrivances that would otherwise not pass if it were published in the early 2000s-era.

Now that you mention it, if Elysion built the Admire and even designated a crew around it, where the actual fuck is the port? And if it were a shoreline that they just established, wouldn't they built it like a fortress where the land has to be constantly secured to make way for Ark land forces/logistics to supply the Admire? Let alone allow specific teams to board for a specific mission (like the former summer stories).

Not to say that there aren't issues with the setting, but this situation isn't unprecedented. The krauts in WWII were critically short of resources to the point where most of their troops and logistics units were horse-mobile when everyone else had trucks and they were still issuing a 19th century bolt action rifle to the average infantryman, yet they still built a bunch of wasteful and inefficient one-off superweapons because someone with a lot of influence in the government thought it would be neat.

The battleship Admire is rather tiny actually, more on the size and displacement of a pre-dreadnought or first generation dreadnought.

So close to 99...

I considered that, but I think it's far more likely that they simply conceived the ideas in isolation without thinking of the rest of the story, which I think is a rather common problem with the writing. The Ark has been operating at a resource shortfall since it's inception, and yet still has been able to maintain standard military preparations (Nikke production has been maintained at a high rate, for both mass produced and unique models), they still are able to prototype and build out elite units, build vanity military products and maintain a high standard of living for the ark citizens, all the while repairing from several recent attacks. Even thoguh the story has been repeatedly talking about how the Ark is running out of resources, nothing ever actually gives and they can just have it all.

While Nazi Germany was able to build some of it's superweapons, it was never able to get the vast majority of them off the ground, and as the resource shortage tightened standard production dropped alongside basic civilian goods, even with the adoption of slave labor to try and keep production up. Something should have given.

Ark already been using "slave labor" with nikkes in the military, mining, manufacturing and other "too hazardous for humans" activities.
The problem is that unlike human slaves, Nikkes need spare parts, and the Ark has enough spare production that they prefer to simply replace damaged parts for Nikkes, even from damage the Nikkes could slowly heal from. They should make the resource problem worse, and as stated, German production fell even with slave labor once the shortage became bad enough.

ShiftUp already been addressing those questions in game. Central Government and the Big Three been doing everything to keep the average John and Jane citizen in the dark about the real situation of the Ark's condition. As the one thing nobody can afford is the Ark citizens collectively losing their shit, as there's no proverbial vent for them.

That doesn't address my point, it's not a problem in and of itself that the Ark is prioritizing civilian goods to keep up morale. Despite there being a severe resource shortage mentioned, the Ark doesn't actually have any problems maintaining it's full production on all fronts. Military production is able to increase as needed to prepare for the Third Reclamation War, they can integrate the Eden tech they got from Dorothy and put it into mass production immediately, Nikke production is steady, there are no ammo shortages, and all three companies have no problems creating and inventing new superweapons. No problems at all on the military side.

But then, on the Civilian side, there are also no shortages, Talentum can easily supply the Ark's customer base with all the consumer goods they can desire, the Ark can quickly rebuild from multiple terrorist attacks, Enikk can pretty much instantly create walls within the ark, etc.. Despite having a resource shortage for a century, they've been able to keep all production up on all fronts, and still build large scale vanity projects, even as energy production is crashing. Something somewhere should have given.
